The concern I have comes from something Bobby at CLNS said, basically wondering out loud that if Brogdon needs surgery on the elbow and didn't get it right after the finals, then maybe he really feels unappreciated and will get the surgery at the start of the season, keeping his summer open, and doing his rehab from October - December on the company's dime.
It's a red flag if true, but can't say I really would blame him. The team basically indicated that he is expendable, so why go the extra mile?
Edit: And if Brogdon is out for the first two months, it wouldn't be the worst thing. In fact, may it is a good chance to see what Pritchard can bring in a regular role, and give Banton (and JD/Scrubb as 2-Way) some minutes as well to see what they can bring. Then the decision can be made at the deadline.
Yea, I don't think it would surprise anyone if Malcolm were out to start the year. No word yet but we'll see.
I imagine the unspoken conversation from Brad:
"Malcolm, you know we love you, but we love the 7'3" Unicorn more ...and more than Heart and Soul Marcus too. And we love Derrick White more than you too, btw. And your name isn't Jaylen or Jayson, so... ipso facto and all that.
But, we do still love you, so why don't you take a couple months off and get your body right, and we'll cover for you (because we still love you, did I mention that?)
There really is a super good chance that you'll be out there on the court late in games when we need you most.
Love you!
