Why would you want that? No one cares about those games.

Nobody relevant cares about college basketball either

well that's complete nonsense. Nobody relevant cares? Such an ignorant thing to say.

Ya and another thing to add to this is, if we are being real. The media loves a cocky white guy at Duke. That is the national media catnip for college basketball coverage. And boy oh boy is Flagg a cocky white guy haha. If Flagg lives up to the hype and that Duke team is legit, its going to be nauseating the type of coverage ESPN and the media will have for Flagg and Duke.

And just from basic NIL from that is going to be hard for any other situation to top. But then add in Nike who has put the time and money already in with Flagg. No doubt Nike is going to be pushing him to that option as well.

He'll get more hype in NCAA and be less likely to fall in the draft because people overrate NCAA and still don't know how to appropriately judge G-League Ignite performance, but I just think NCAA basketball kind of sucks and he'll get better development playing with the Ignite.

Im also just curious to see what someone of his caliber looks like in the GLeague at 18.

That said, I'm a UConn fan, so if he plays for the Huskies I'm not going to complain. Going to Duke would be lame imo.

So getting better as a player is not important?

Do you have data that suggests players get better at other colleges or in the GLeague?

I mean, that's not entirely true. If he thought there was another option (different college/league) that'd be far better for his development than Duke, there'd be reason for him to choose that option because it could potentially earn him many more millions in the future. Is Scheyer the best coach for a young player's development? I don't think we have the answer to that question yet. Is Hurley at UConn better? Is the G-League or NBL better? These are questions Flagg should (and would) be weighing up.

FWIW, I think it's close to a lock he'll go to Duke, but if it was me personally, I'd be waiting to see a little more from Scheyer before making that decision.

When it comes to development for these OAD guys, Ill say whoever they get as their personal trainer is more important than where they go for these 6 months or so.

Here is the thing, power conference schools and especially the blue bloods, those will have the better training facilities compared to the G League. Far more money gets pumped into these blue blood programs than Ignite. And ya with the G League you get to focus on basketball 24/7, but also lets not fool ourselves either when it comes to amount of school work OAD players do. Most of these guys take only 1-2 actual classes where they have to be in person and the rest are online classes. And when they're OADs, they just front load them with the easiest classes possible. And many just stop going to classes in general in the spring because any academic hit they get from the spring wont be used against them until the start of next year and they know they wont be at school anymore.

So ya I think who they hire as their personal trainer is actually more important when it comes to their actual advancements in skills.

While I agree I don't feel like cbb hype and coverage is near the same as it was 20-30 years ago when guys were there for 3-4 years and it built up over time. Now I don't even bother to know much about cbb because the turnover is so fast and its like why bother investing any sort of time into a team that's there for one year and may or may not do much of anything in the tourney. I don't think the players even care near as much as they used to due to the one and done mentality.

Oh word, I didn't realize we were in the running for him

Wild, we're not usually a school that these guys go to, so I didn't even consider that

But yeah, he probably goes to Duke. They're more for the one-and-done guys. I'm surprised we even got Stephon Castle, we're usually in the 30-50 RSCI range, not the top 10.
BaF Lakers:

Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

Bench: Malcolm Brogdon/Hansen Yang/Rocco Zikarsky/RJ Luis Jr.

Castle 2nd highest ranked recruit ever for UConn (Highest was Rudy Gay)

despite it tho Uconn was one the more successful programs...let's just say I'd rather be a Uconn fan than a Kentucky fan

That’s not really fair to the school. Calipari is by all means a total douche bag, and Pitino probably was, too, but it’s a great program with great fans. I was there for grad school when Tubby Smith was coach, and that team led by Tayshaun Prince, Keith Bogans and Chuck Hayes was a hard-working, fun bunch.

Kentucky is currently a disaster

they are not winning any championships and they have virtually a brand new roster every single year so very little player rooting interest too. shouldn't even be considered a bball program at this point just a 6 month bus stop to the NBA.

Read on Twitter

Flagg showed out last night against the Boozer twins. 20/11/7 with 4 blocks (and 2-3 steals as well). Hit some nice 3s off the dribble and the 20 points came very efficiently (missed only 2-3 shots). And this was all legit talent, 10 guys in this game are ranked players. The dude was really showing off the point forward skills to go along with the elite defense.

Got a solid 20 minutes right here from the draft reddit. His jumper was looking clean this game. Them Uconn rumors must be scaring you huh?

Does anyone know why the youtube embed doesn't work? Weird.

I went in and embedded the video. Sometimes you cant just paste the link, you have to go in and actually use the Youtube tab in the advanced reply.

I will say the rumors are definitely starting to kick up. It is known that his recruitment is coming to an end very soon. So hard to tell if its legit rumors or just a lot of smoke to stir up some hype. Still feeling pretty good that he will be at Duke.

Committed to Duke. I'm not convinced about Scheyer as an elite coach yet, but hopefully this is the best place for Flagg.
