I think , in order to manage JI's body properly, it would take injuries to all 3 of WCJ, Goga, and MoSwag before they try that.

There is no more managing JI.

Chances of Jonathan Isaac being a starter this year without injuries.

There is a negative chance Isaac ever starts over Banchero. Banchero played in 72 games (and was healthy for 75; missing games 80-82 for "player development" reasons).

So that means there would be like 7 games Isaac might start. Add to that positional issues (like M-Wagner starting late-season games), Isaac might, maybe start 3 games this coming season unless something truly horrible happens to Banchero.

I don’t think ANYBODY is suggesting Isaac sends Banchero to the bench….if anything, WCJ or even sending Franz to the 2. But no…I like him backing up all 3 frontcourt spots, depending on matchups.

Fultz, Suggs, F. Wagner, Banchero, WCJ

Cole, Harris, Ingles, Isaac, M. Wagner

AB and Jett have to find time somewhere though. AB just has a great overall game and Jett is just too good of a shooter to not get some burn. I'm guessing the bench lineup gets 'load management' games here and there to get the rooks extra burn. I can see Harris getting pushed out of the regular rotation if one of the rooks comes out of the gates strong.

Let me expand: there is no way Isaac starts over F-Wagner, Banchero, or Carter.

If Carter goes down to injury, Isaac doesn't start (unless Mosley makes the unlikely choice to shift Banchero to C). Rotationally, starting Bitadze makes more sense to keep M-Wagner and Isaac in the same sub-group. Depth and the rotation get messed up to shift Banchero as a starter.

If F-Wagner goes down, that give minutes to Black, not starter minutes to Isaac. G-Harris would slide to the 3, and Fultz and Suggs would start at guards.

I stand by my prediction-statement that Isaac will get at least 3 starts and no more than 7 starts this year.

Houston and Blazers probably give you enough wiggle room to play some Black & Howard, but after that we are hitting this streach, and this isn't streach to experiment with rookies if you don't want to lose 5,6 in a row and dig yourself into deep hole

Franz can shoot it. No way Fultz and Black (& even PB and Suggs without further shooting improvement) play big mins together…Ingles slides in there, also could be Jett’s opportunity. Ingles is the closest approximation of Franz until we see more of Jett. Houstan and Okeke could have a good camp, still may have a say as well.

I could see scenarios for Black at 1,2, or 3…but none should involve Fultz, imo.

My point is not about Black; it is that if F-Wagner goes down, not only does Isaac still not start, he won't get extra minutes either.

This, but Black potentially more-so at SF/SG instead of PG right now. Might even see him at PF TBH. I still expect a Dyson Daniels type of role for Black in his rookie season. We'll see. :dontknow:

Black will spend some time in g league, but he is a PG, plating him somewhere else would be a waste of his skills

Barring injuries: Fultz, Franz, Paolo, WCJ will be the starters.

SG is the only position where we don't know for sure. Probably be between Gary Harris and Suggs. I'm betting Harris will be the starter to help space the floor.
