Pure speculation, but feels like something sudden and guessing personal. Both have been around for awhile. I can't believe Stotts forgot what coaching entails and doesn't like it, and I also doubt they coaching differences that lead to this. If it is coaching differences, that is awful from a GM standpoint not hashing that out before the hire of Stotts. Seems very unprofessional of Stotts to quite right before the season if it's that as well.

What? Everything I have seen from the player interviews is that they *love* the added intensity/competitiveness in practices. Giannis, Bobby, Jae have all spoken about how much they like it, and in some cases kinda taken shots at how practices were ran previously.

You need to go watch the player interviews during training camp, especially Giannis. He raved about that exact new environment of competitiveness/**** talking. You’re taking something that the players themselves have pretty consistently mentioned as a positive and framing it as a negative?

My best guess is Stotts wanted a Lillard-centric offense with GA being primarily a screener and off ball mover, and AG wanted to center around GA. Just a guess. Obviously I’m on Stotts side if that’s the case. I do not have a good feeling about AG.

We just hired Stotts to recruit Dame, now that we have Dame Stotts is not needed.

The funny thing is, outside of Milwaukee, it looks like people are saying Dame may have NOT wanted Stotts. Weird. Perception is everything. Guess it's too early to say.

Regardless of how we got here, this sucks. A lot of us were made much more comfortable with the AG hiring due to Stotts as an offensive coordinator and experienced voice to AG's defensive coordinator.

There is a potential outcome of AG being a fantastic coach and this not mattering or even being a good thing, but damn it felt more comfortable with Stotts on board as insurance in case that's not the outcome.

I think it’s understandable that all those quotes came out. New energy is always exciting. I just wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some negatives that come with it too. Not saying there’s going to be a Draymond-Poole situation or anything but I think there’s a lot that could happen with some of our personalities lol.

I'm not ready to jump to the organizational dysfunction conclusion. It could be, I guess, but the fact that Woj got no "spend more time with family" or "personal issues" cover story makes it less likely, I think.

But even if it comes out that AG is an abrasive prick who drove the mild-mannered Stotts away, I'm willing to suspend judgment on him. According to Leo Durocher, where do nice guys finish again?

Giannis loved Jason Kidd too tho, he might just be a psychopath who thrives in a toxic environment but I'm not sure that's going to work with everybody else or be the place guys want to play. It's a lot of speculation right now, we gotta get a detailed explanation as to what actually happened. I do agree that Griffin being hired does seem like it was contingent on signing an experienced offensive minded lead assistant, its a bad look for Horst right now and I wonder how it will effect the team.

Yea camp excitement under a new coach is basically always a thing. I try not read too much into puff pieces that come out during camp

That’s my anxiety. I go to worst case scenario and my worse case scenario is that AG is going to ruin my favorite thing in the world lol.
