Nah MP, you and some of the others were speaking very boldly about how you can’t even begin to judge the quarterback based on the state of the offensive line. I even asked you if you saw any opportunities for improvement from DJ and you said there was nothing to be coached on. It was never his fault. Now we have a different quarterback and it’s clear that as bad as the Oline has been ole Danny Boy was leaving way too much meat on the bone. No explosive plays. Clear misses. It was never his fault though. Even now you can’t even admit the obvious: that the offense has looked much, much better with Tyrod. Talking to some of you about jones is like talking to your woman when she’s clearly wrong but she still won’t apologize lol.
and yet we are scoring the exact same amount of pts with Barkley back and Pugh who has helped stabilize the offensive line and our defense is playing lights out at the start of these games.
Much much better is crazy, Tyrod has connected on more deep balls yes (Washington gives up a ton of them). No doubt and hopefully we DJ comes back he isn't as shell shocked with the oline to take more deep shots, so I give Tylor credit there. Are you going to be fair and say he also cost us the Bills game by audibling to a run costing us a TD and at least 3 which would have won that game...you would have killed DJ if that was him.
Or the overthrow on the 3rd and 2 late in the game to Wandale yesterday where we had to punt when the game was in the balance. Or the stagnant offense in the 2nd half?
You just hate DJ, but are acting like we are playing some elite offense with Tyrod. Tyrod is doing a very solid job as a backup. I have no complaints but he isn't the starter.
No one said elite; don’t put words in peoples mouths. But the same way you could watch that game and others and find opportunities to critique Taylor in a game where he played well when you couldn’t do that during Jones’s games is showing your bias. It’s not that I don’t like Jones; it’s that I’ve watched him play is all. Taylor has played better than Jones. Full stop. And if the output is still the same but Jones makes 35 million more then the situation is more dire than we can imagine.
and don't put words in my mouth, I never said Daniel Jones was playing well early in the year. All I said is the poor play is very much reflected on our revolving offensive line door and losing our best weapon in Barkley. Now that doesn't excuse Daniel Jones for some of the mistakes he was making before the injury.
But they currently aren't playing under the same circumstances or vs the same level of competition. As long as you can acknowledge that then we are good. I am pleased Tyrod is playing solid. That still doesn't change my opinion that we should be a more dynamic offense with Jones playing.
