While I don't know what Pat does well, I know Caruso is an ELITE defender and much better ball handler and distributor. Pat is the better shooter, but not by as much as some may think as career splits are almost exactly the same. And if you're looking to replace any perceived loss of shooting, you can do that (and then some) with AJ.

What was said in this thread that has been over the top?

He’s been a fantastic role player in his career, but that roster is a mashup of young and old and I could see him squeezed out this season. He’s the backup center/hybrid defender I’d love to matchup against Boston.

I’d trade Portis for Nance. Nance is much more playable in the playoffs.
Bobby is way better in the regular season because he can get buckets.

Caruso just doesn’t get shots up. The shots Pat gets up, Caruso wouldn’t even take. That’s the problem, Caruso is an elite defender, but he is an absolute zero on offense.

Couldn’t he be the type of player to motivate the whole team to play better defense, become infectious through his actions? I also think he could be nearly as effective or possibly better at hitting the wide open 3s he’s sure to get if he’s the 5th starter.
