I know there’s this idea that Holiday is a Dame stopper, but Dame’s averaged 25 ppg against Holiday.
Holiday is an all-time perimeter defender, but that Pelicans series had more to do with Dame than Jrue. Go look at the numbers. It was Dame but not Dame. Watching it at the time, I said, "In this series, Dame is playing like an MK Ultra subject who's had his programming turned off." He looked like a completely different person. Mindboggingly passive.
It was several things, Dame really struggled to counter, Stotts struggled to adjust, CJ was got shutdown. That team did not play a team oriented style offense, nor did it have a quality roster to do so. So the focal point became Dame and CJ and Dame trying to create individual offense or two man with Nurk. But Jrue, Rondo and AD absolutely crushed any chance we could do anything. Rondo tore up our defense and made both Dame and CJ look like fools. The “passivity” was Dame and the team not having a solution.
Being a Blazer fan isn't exactly healthy.
