I'm still shocked Mosley is benching them even with our logjam. Maybe Harris was cooking in training camp as well, but I would have sworn incentives were in place to develop our lotto picks and give them a path to playing time.Knightro wrote:fateis007 wrote:Knightro wrote:If it were me, the very first order of business would be a consolidation trade.
Package 3 or even 4 guys plus draft picks and actually go out and get a higher end starting guard or a higher end forward capable of playing 20-25 really good minutes a night off the bench.
Don’t move any of Franz, Paolo, Suggs, Carter, Black or Jett. That’s your core group.
We are 2-1 and almost won this last one. You went from 0 to 100 real fast. a "4 player" trade 3 games into the season would be unfounded and probably a first ever.
I’ve been calling for them to pick a lane since before the season though.
They’re “trying to win” only they’re not making the moves to field the best team they can field.
They’re “trying to develop” only they’re not playing two lotto picks.
Eventually this dam is going to break and they’re going to have to choose one path or the other.
I’d rather them be proactive and just pick one now instead of halfway through the season.
It truly is a case of run it back with the two lottery picks as complete nonfactors. Really hard to agree with the coaching or executive rationale.
