But good enough to be in playoff contention. This year they just let dudes walk without finding any legit replacements.

Kova wrote:From realistic options, I like Siakam on this team. Brings some defense we lost with Tucker gone, and is also very aggressive offensively and will fit Nurse's style nicely. He is also buddies with Embiid.
But to do that, we would likely need to part ways with Tobias.

I dont think Lauri and Biid will be good fit, they dont move that much on offense. I also think we’d be handicapped at defense, unless you slide him to the 3 like what Jazz and Cavs did.
OG is OK but he’s just an expensive 3&D guy. I like to get him but at the right price. And I doubt Massai is the type of GM who wants to just accept a fair deal. They say Raps was asking 4 firsts for OG in last year’s deadline. Im not paying that much unless I also get Lavine or Siakam where OG would be that piece that puts me over the top.

Lauri and Embiid would be a perfect fit. Lauri is a mobile big man, who is athletic and can shoot like crazy. Confused by this response haha. He is the antithesis of Tobias. He's not a great defender, but he's an ideal pairing offensively. Maybe like you said slide him at the 3?

If Bane were to become available...
Siakam if he makes All-NBA: 52.37mil/5year supermax
Siakam on just a max instead of supermax: 44.89/4year - 202.28mil (including his contract this season 240.17)

JJJ is cheaper. Grizz also has a lot of bigs.

- We will have $65M of cap space in the offseason
- We can trade 3 first round picks, 3 first round pick swaps and 6 second round picks
- unless stars asks to be traded, they need to be traded for the entire treasure chest. So no Ingram, Jimmy or Markanen
- Pascal Siakam is the biggest UFA in the offseason
- OG anunoby has a $18M contract
- Lavine has a $50M contract
My Bold Prediction of what’s LIKELY gonna happen.
We’re not gonna trade for Lavine this season. Because it will make that cap space useless and we need to give up depth to acquire him.
The most likely thing that’s gonna happen is we’re gonna trade for OG Anunoby before the trade deadline for Marcus Morris’ 17M expiring and most likely 4-5 first round picks/pick swaps.
OG and Nurse are familiar with one another so OG would be a seamless injection to the team. We can wait till the deadline to trade for him. The asking price in last season’s deadline was 4 first round picks. We have more than enough, but it doesnt necessarily mean we’re gonna use all of them because we need a back-up plan in the FA.
2023-2024
Maxey/Pat Beverly
Melton/Oubre
OG Anunoby/Roco
Tobias/Batum
Embiid/Reed
After doing that trade we’ll have Tobias and Paul Reed as place holder for Pascal Siakam, who we MIGHT sign in the offseason with our 45M-ish cap space.
And once we sign Siakam in the offseason.
Tyrese Maxey
Jaden Springer
OG Anunoby
Pascal Siakam
Joel Embiid
If Siakam wont agree to sign with us, I’m guessing we will call the Bulls and absorb Lavine’s contract and add some sweeteners (Springer? Picks? Pick swaps?).
Tyrese Maxey
Zach Lavine
OG Anunoby
Paul Reed
Joel Embiid
I just dont know if Nurse would approve the Maxey-Lavine frontcourt on defense.
There’s also a scenario where we send smoke all over the league that we’re gonna sign Siakam (who else? Klay Thompson?) and use it as leverage, call Massai and tell him to hand us over Siakam and OG with a king’s ransom this offseason while trading players from Clips trade and/or Tobi. Im guessing Massai will ask Tobi because he seems to prefer to acquire guys who can contribute with the rumored Hawks offer for Tobi and the Poetl trade.
Maxey/Beverly
Melton/DHJ/Springer
OG Anunoby/Batum
Pascal Siakam/Roco (we give them Korkmaz instead)
Joel Embiid/Reed

If Kyle Neubeck says that Markannen is a possiblity I'm guessing he did his research, and considered it was possible. To get Lauri we would have to trade for him.
