It appears she declined the option because Miami wanted to hire a President of Baseball Ops to be above her in the pecking order which seems ridiculous given the success she's had so far

It appears she declined the option because Miami wanted to hire a President of Baseball Ops to be above her in the pecking order which seems ridiculous given the success she's had so far
I'm kinda torn here...there are obvious optics issues but on the other hand, most metrics suggest that 85 wins probably was higher than what they actually played to, the Arraez trade probably was bad, Alcantara out next year (not her fault) means things might not get better.
On the other hand, she can't spend much money anyways. Pretty good all things considered...but other teams probably do this to GMs occasionally?

She wasn't responsible for any of the baseball decisions in Miami.

I don't know, there are always bull power struggles in baseball/sports. Didn't the Astros basically fire their GM after winning the World Series?
