It appears she declined the option because Miami wanted to hire a President of Baseball Ops to be above her in the pecking order which seems ridiculous given the success she's had so far

I'm kinda torn here...there are obvious optics issues but on the other hand, most metrics suggest that 85 wins probably was higher than what they actually played to, the Arraez trade probably was bad, Alcantara out next year (not her fault) means things might not get better.

On the other hand, she can't spend much money anyways. Pretty good all things considered...but other teams probably do this to GMs occasionally?

She hasn't been perfect but in 3 years she took them from a annually terrible team to the playoffs. It just seems weird to me to want to hire someone above her. How often does a team's top decision maker get hired over without them being fired?

She wasn't responsible for any of the baseball decisions in Miami.

I'm not sure what you mean. Literally every article I've read says she's leaving because they wanted her to go from being the top decision maker to the #2 under a new President of Baseball Ops

I don't know, there are always bull power struggles in baseball/sports. Didn't the Astros basically fire their GM after winning the World Series?

That's fair, but to me it'd almost have been better to fire her rather than try to hire somebody above her. That just feels insulting

Kinda grateful we didn't get to see the Brewers play in Philly.

I understand third time through the lineup but Pfaadt has completely dominated on just 70 pitches.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The power of losing to the Brewers is fighting through hard. Thought for sure Philly would close it out in Game 6.

Rangers I thought were done too. Kudos to them for battling back. Curious who Astros get as Manager.

Looks like the Brewers curse remains. Beat us in the playoffs and you punch your ticket to the WS.

I want off this ride.

Haha I was going to make a joke about the Brewers hanging a banner. Damn you MD.

Mad Dog Russo really going to retire as he promised to do if the DBacks won the series? I doubt it.

What is that, 8 for 10 in franchise history? Although it wasn't such a big deal when only 4 teams made the playoffs, it's a pretty astounding stat now.

Worst. Ratings. Ever.

I'm not even sure why I'm happy, but maybe I just enjoy seeing Manfred squirm under the pressure. I'm definitely feeling some type of way about how much less important the regular season has become. And yes, I do realize the playoffs have always been a crapshoot, but getting there wasn't.
