Maxey/Beverley/Springer
Bridges/Melton/Korkmaz
Batum/Oubre/Smith
Harris/Covington/Martin
Embiid/Reed/Bamba
We would still have money/option to sign OG and retain one of Tobias/Oubre for the full MLE this summer.
Brooklyn is likely only going to trade him for a player, not assets. However, they should really consider it as he's clearly just a number 3 option.
No top option is going to want to be there if he leaves, so that should just enhance their rebuild.
Also. I And 1 a post regarding Cam Thomas being a great option for Philly, I always get him and Johnson confused. Johnson is a fine option

I think there was a report that the Nets turned down 4 firsts for Bridges when they traded for Durant. Who knows what the protections were but yeah.
Remember the Nets still owe a bunch of unprotected firsts and swaps to Houston for Harden (lol) they won’t be bottoming out.

This talk of needing a 3rd guy is overblown. For all his issues Tobias Harris is just as good as any of the guys I just mentioned.
The real key was those teams ran a modern motion offense where everyone shares the ball, cuts, and finds the open man, instead of non-stop stagnant ISO-ball as we did under Glenn.
Now the new coach has put in a similar offense, which should lead to everyone being more effective come playoff time.
You nailed it. The difference between the way this group plays in Nurse's motion offense vs. the dreary, predictable ISO offense of Glenn is immeasurable, and will show itself even more in games where the court shrinks. There's no way to properly judge this team until we see a few games against quality competition, and test #1 is tomorrow night.
You and I have also always agreed on this tiered "star" thing that everyone is obsessed with. Rather than a 3rd "star", I'd prefer we pursue solid role players that fit the system, much like they have done in Denver. Build an 8-9 deep roster with various scoring options that can go that deep in the playoffs, and it mitigates the need for a "3rd star".
Right. Plus I can't believe people are making me defend Assassin as I've been one of his biggest detractors. But that was because of his contract... which has now become a sunk cost.
If he resigns at the right price, he's a valuable player and a more than capable 3rd offensive option in a modern, motion offense like we FINALLY have now.
My issues with Harris went beyond the contract, but at this point, in this system, he is pretty much as good as a lot of the names being bandied about, and we don't have to give anything up. I would be open to resigning him at the right price if no better option is available.

I'm guessing Nurse got in his ear, and the whole team is being expected to as well. Tyrese had a game or two where he pulled a high number of boards as well.

I wonder if Maxey has taken over Cade Cunningham and Jalen Green in the hierarchy of franchise players.
Currently none of these teams are going to trade one player to another, kind of that time when people wont trade Dwight Howard for LeBron James.

Mikal is not worth the overpay. He’s not playing any defense and his offense is 3rd option-ish.

Almost all teams and Daryl dont trade for stars that their team still has future plans with them. CP3, westbrook and harden.
Specially with the assets we have. Like I said, if its all about assets then Jokic would be playing for the Thunders right now.
You can’t go teams and be like conquistadors and tell them “hey, how about i give you 5 first rounders for your stars. You dont have a shot to win the championship anyway”

I agree. People just like looking at things through the lens of what benefits the Sixers though.

4. Nikola Jokic—2.4
7. Anthony Davis—2.3
8. Ivica Zubac—2.2
8. Joel Embiid—2.2
10. Walker Kessler—2.0

i've always said I can't blame coach Brown for drafting and then trading Bridges. He was in over his head, thanks to collars and Adam Silver. But that trade right there is a monster trade which would make my blood boil. I'm not saying it should not be done but damn.
I love Mikal, but I agree. Not about not blaming Brown for that hideous trade, though. Biggest unforced error of the post-Process period IMO, along with bringing Glenn in here.
For me the worst mistake was trading the Celtics a 2017 first rounder for a third rounder (which materialized in Fultz to Sixers and Tatum to Celtics) and first rounders in 2018 and 2019.

That was the second worst mistake. The worst mistake was allowing Silver, the powers that be, to pin a singular noun/verb to the now current MVP only after getting rid of the architect of that noun/verb before it being cultivated.

Accountability. Nurse coaching staff(rico, jackson, the vets(pat ) aren't going for that.
Doc would allow it so he can preserve energy offensively.

Unless the Nets want to unload contracts or get more picks, but no one is gonna take ben's contract which is the worst one they have

Agree, but if the Nets are going nowhere and can get some team to overpay for Thomas as part of a package with picks. Needing to rebuild and owing as many picks as they do, I could see Marks looking to cash in on the Thomas 'hype' if possible.

There is a lot of talk about the Fowards, but to accompany Maxey in the Guard position a little less so.
My favourites are:
Option A. Marcus Smart
Option B. Dejounte Murray
Option C. Malcolm Brogdon

Maxey is definitely more of a franchise player than Green, who's on the fast track to the wasteland of low efficiency chuckers that don't do anything else. He's a microwave bench scorer on a good team.
I'd trade Maxey for Cunningham today but that could look bad as early as this all star break depending on each's trajectories.

It's tight but Cade has legit injury concerns thus far.
