He even plays a little outside linebacker. Looking at the draft ratings right now he should be on the board with our 3rd round picks.

He’s campaigning to keep his job… which will be his undoing.

On the Williams TD you can see Jackson completely unready to try and run with one of the fastest guys in the league, if not the fastest in a straight line. He was completely clowned. He will get dogged for that film and honestly on a better team he'd be replaced with someone that is ready to give effort.

NFL contracts are so ridiculously convoluted that I have never bothered to try to understand them. But he signed a massive deal 2 years ago with a lot of money left on it. Can't imagine anyone will claim his waiver and that contract, right?

I'm sure most Head coaches would prefer their own staff but I'd rather not have Fields learn a new system if we decide to keep him. I like the idea of Lovie Smith, John Harbough and some of the others mentioned but I'm not sure how often a new Coach keeps the previous offensive coordinator.

There’s not a lot of Getsy offense in what they are running for Fields. Big game hunter plays, and designed runs. Bagent ran the Getsy stuff a lot. The timing routes designed for YAC. Something tells me that if Fields stays, Getsy won’t be here. If Getsy stays, Fields won’t be here. There is a line of thought that they are currently turning the Fields package loose to display him to other teams that might want to totally run Fields ball.
I read commentary that Detroit’s defense was more amenable to Fields doing well. It will be interesting down the stretch to see how a defense that runs more zone concepts than Detroit runs (such as the Vikings) will fare against Fields compared to the Lions. Detroit ran more man coverage. Fields obviously did well against that, which is his wheelhouse. Zone stuff is when he struggles more.
