Giddey is not released just being investigated. Girl was 15 @ the time. Giddey still should've never put himself in that situation.

Re: Around The NBA - Regular Season version (Harden traded...now what?)
Towns has absolutely been killing it. He is a big reason as to why the Wolves are as good.
This is exactly what I mean in terms of "at some point the FO needs to take a risk"....all these players like Fox, SGA, Towns are some point where available and the FO passed on engaging in any talks about any of them...no all of them are on winning teams, playing great and pretty much untouchable.
At some point the FO needs to overpay on some guy that they believe can take that step or would be a great fit. There is not going to come any savior at the right moment, at the right price.....if you look at the landscape in terms of some players and positions...there is not that guy, let alone available.

How exactly does this apply to the knicks?
Nobody has yet spoken about trading Brunson - and are you implying that Randle, IQ, or Barret are on the level of Fox, SGA, and Towns?

jamal murray's impact is really underrated. jokic has not been able to win without him

Yup. SGA would have always taken a massive haul but Fox and Towns value was depressed. We did make a great call on Brunson but it will take another risk like that to get us over the hump.

Brunson wasn’t much of a risk though, we signed him as a free agent to a cheap deal

The Clippers got really unlucky....I remember 3 years ago they had Lenard and PG going in the playoffs and it looked like they'd break through for the title...then Kawhi got injured against the Jazz and it went downhill from there. While Leonard has been injury prone forever, I think almost no one could have anticipated the ridiculous amount of injuries these two went through. In a reasonable estimate, if they had like 2-3 playoffs runs together healthy, I really think they would have had one title at least, maybe accompanied with a couple WCFs or so. Leonard and George were two elite two way all around wing players at that time. Frankly, a healthy Kawhi was probably the best player in the league and he would not have gone to the Clippers to play with SGA at that time. He requested PG.
As a Clipper fan I'd acknowledge that it did not work out unfortunately...but I wouldn't necessarily feel too bad about it...it was always the right thing to do. They had enough talent to win a title. Injuries prevented it...it could not have been foreseen to that extent...

Say, if you put a healthy Kawhi on the Knicks this season for a playoff run....I'd almost go as far as betting on the Knicks to come out of the east...he is that good.

100% that was a title team.
The injury timing was just terrible.

Sure but we had to give up assets to get him and he then exceeded the reward projections of all but a few.

They took a huge risk banking on two guys with histories of major injuries... sometimes risks pay off but often they don't (see Clippers and Nets "super" teams). Hindsight is always 20/20.
