Sad for a team that once featured the GOAT.

(Seriously, it never did. The GOAT remains Bill Russell.)

Yep, if Orl didn't like it they could have simply not lost to the Nets. Then they'd be 4-0 and point differential wouldn't matter.

had we won by +21 all of you would sing a different tune. I am happy the rules made a way for us to advance, but if they stay the same and we miss out next season I'll be mad. I'm ecstatic right now, but I still don't like how it's set up. I'm talking about them fixing it next season, but I'd be pissed if I were bkn fans for sure.

The big problem imo is that the finalists end up playing an 83 game reg season ...I think reg season is ALREADY too many games and now we may play 83

fix it to where everyone plays same amount of reg season games no matter what happens in mid season tourn

Going from 82 to 83 is not a big deal with teams allowed to load management.

Good win. Everyone chipped in, good team effort.

Can't get too excited about this win, since the Bulls are bad and they didn't play very hard throughout this game.

But the pace we played with was good, the ball movement, player movement on offense was good. The defense was good for the most part.

Hauser really solidifying himself as our 7th man. That put-back dunk was awesome, he hit 3's, played solid D and even showed some flashes of putting the ball on the floor and trying attack off the dribble a little bit when he was run off the line by his defender. You can tell he works hard to keep improving his game. Love it.

Banton with 2 solid games in a row now in the 2 games where he's been in the rotation. Was good to see him knock down a 3, since that's his main weakness. If he can hit those open 3's, he could really be a solid player for us.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

nba must fix this next season, they stomped us and lose an easy bid because we stomped a worse team.

It might indeed be fairer to only consider point differential among teams that are tied.

On the other hand, the Celts/Bulls game was a lot more intense than it might have been had its point differential not mattered to tournament seedings.

What did yall think of the half time performance by Milliyz? I was always a fan of the raining Js podcast and he had the intro didn't seem like the halftime crowd was too excited.

I want to go from like 82 to 62 ...even 52 would be PLENTy to determine 8 best teams from each conf.

I mean teams with deep PO runs end up playing 100+ games
I get that owners want all 41 games in their place but 100 dam games per season SHeeeSH

So by qualifying for the tournament we earned ourselves a tougher regular season schedule?

It doesn't change who you play where or how often, just when.

That makes sense mainly if all 82 games were scheduled, but now 6 of them will be cancelled because they're being replaced by tourney knockout games.

In that case, only the 2 semifinal games in Vegas will result in somebody having a home game moved to a neutral court.

They were Celtics fans as boys. (At least, Moritz was.) They're pissed that the Cs dumped Mo.

Yep.

Let the record show that I am a MASSIVE fan of it.

It’s better than winning Banner 18 to be honest.

Let the record show that what you post is rarely sincere. :D

Yeah after I wrote that I realised the where will change for the semi finalists...

Tiebreakers should be regular season record, although they would then have to be sure all teams played the same amount of games up through the tournament. This would ensure top teams would make it in over a bad team that just played well in the tourney games. It could make early regular season games a bit more competitive, rather than just the point differential in just 4 games. It would also eliminate anyone getting hurt trying to run a 30 point lead up to 40.

Yeah, not disagreeing with you, but that's been the standard for decades.

That's also the reason why winning an NBA championship is special.

The season is so long that luck becomes a factor in deciding an NBA champion.

How or why would the Celtics not get in with a 3 and 1 record?

Why did they need Brooklyn to win?

Donovan had no issue with his Bulls getting pummeled. Just don't hack Drummond. Got it.
