And Terry can be a trade asset next year without the risk of an additional two (years) if nobody bites
Terry's deal is going up every year. It's probably never going to be anything better than slightly negative.
Kuzma's deal is going to be very positive value in a year or two, if not already now.
Preface: I'm not at all defending Terry in a vacuum. I'm all for trading him.
This reeks of either (or both) severe Terry hate or severe Kuzma love.
We have the 28th highest payroll. Terry "going up every year" means an additional $1.7 million between this year and next, when he'll essentially be an expiring contract. That's hardly what I'd call crippling.
Kuzma will be at $23.5
next year and will still have two more guaranteed years after that. Kuzma is currently on a 4 year $90mil contract that runs guaranteed through 26/27. There isn't a single soul on the planet who calls that "very positive value".
The simple fact that you're proposing a swap of them two while being so down on Terry should scream that he isn't "a very enticing trade asset" lol.
Terry is the only guard on the roster not named Melo or Miller who belongs in an NBA rotation. Seems kind of wild to trade for a different bonehead who plays the same position as Gordo, Miles, and PJ
