Counting last night's game, Indiana has a 38.8% 3 point percentage.
Last night Indiana shot 47.5% from 3. On 40 shots, the difference is normally 15.52 makes = 46.56 pts, but last night 19 makes for 57 points. 10.44 pts. above their normal % (they won by 10).
Meanwhile, Celtics average 36.2% from 3, but last night shot 29.3% from 3. On 41 shots, that's 14.84 3's normally but only 12 last night (2.84 less 3's, which is 8.4 less points (while Indiana scored 10 pts. more than their average from 3). So, instead of winning by 8, the Celtics lost by 10, just from 3 point shooting percentages of both teams. Had Porzingis been available, there probably would have been a Plan B. Without him, there wasn't much Joe could have done except try to get Hauser more than 9 shots (he deserved 13 last night). But that would have only been 6 more points probably. With Pritchard off (0-5), there was no bench scoring (Hauser and Kornet combined for an efficient 21 pts., but that was all) and with Holiday and Horford off on a night Porzingis was sitting out, well, that's the way the cookie crumbles. Even if they had another guy who could dependably score on the bench, they'd still have to get him the shots, although maybe Pritch would have passed up some of his 0-5 Long Ones if he had another reliable shooter to pass to who would have operated from 2 point range because the Celtics were shooting sub-30% from 3.
