The injuries sparked Goga and Black getting opportunities. Now that they're proven good players, certainly in GogaBit's case, whatever trade offer they had can be contemplated.

I agree it's possible Fultz isn't part of this. His tics are back sadly and his value is v low. He may just be kept for this season and then let go. But I think its also possible he's a salary match or an expiring for a team looking to get off salary.

Yeah, putting it that way is where I agree - if at any point they could've came back sooner and our FO went "No, no, it's fine..." then maybe that doesn't bode well for their future here lol.

But it's still a bit tricky - if Goga somehow re-signs here as a UFA I think that would be extremely telling for WCJ's future, but it's hard to say at this moment and Goga's decision may force them to just keep WCJ in that case.

Fultz is interesting because I do think it's hard to rely on a low-volume rookie all year. His best attributes is the ball not sticking with him because of pecking order stuff and just being a great connector piece. But he's a rook, will hit a wall, isn't someone Mose exactly trusts yet down the stretch. Fultz hitch being back is unfortunate and not good and not sure I want to commit to that, but if he is even similar to his offense and defense last year, he's still a helpful player until he's let go. I would then look to committing Black there full time or seeing if we can swing for some big name PG somehow. But Fultz would have to play different and the ball can't be in his hands as much because the offense gets bogged down way too much.

Damn, I didn’t realize that tbh. I thought Goga’s arrival would possibly make WCJ expendable as a trade chip, but I don’t think you can do that if Goga is UFA. However.. if Goga gets brought back it’s a whole different story.

Goga has been the FO’s best acquisition outside of the draft and the Vucevic trade, I hope they can bring him back on an affordable deal

Goga being an UFA and Wendell being under contract will make the decision to play Wendell easier. You know some of these teams with bad centers will start speculating on Goga in free agency. He may end up getting a MLE.

Goga and WCJ are such different players. Plugging WCJ right back in is certainly risky - I also think WCJ is a super-versatile, heady guy...maybe he can adapt his game to focus on what we need more than what he has provided in the past. WCJ is a better player than Goga-but not for ORL...I think Goga's free agency makes a trade for a center not inconceivable. A guy like Jarrett Allen is a Goga upgrade, providing rim defense, significant picks, lob finishes, and double digit rebounds. Keeping Goga on a 10m x 2 deal would be fantastic...are we able to be negotiating that now ? Some clarity on him would certainly help with other decisions. If he's going to play the field, we might want to go hard at Nic Claxton, another UFA who would be an upgrade...I'm fine with Goga-just want some certainty.

I think Weltman will lock him up quick and reasonable - like he usually does. Goga has to acknowledge that IND WAIVED him not long ago and ORL's system has rebuilt his career. I'm not saying pure gratitude, just recognizing where and who he is.

I'm not worried about Goga's free agency. The front office seems to be pretty good at getting reasonable deals. The real question is whether we should push for someone even better. He's playing like he's in a contract year so you'd have to project some growth to make up for losing that.

The reason i'm asking about Goga is that when everyone is healthy he's pretty much the 3rd string center.....i think dell is going to be here and moe is going to be here without question, i think it's very possible he might be priced out of what we'll want to pay for a essentially a 3rd stringer.....might need to think about replacements

Not any more he isn't the 3rd stringer. Unless there's a trade (which surely must happen) we may see Goga at 5 and Moe/Wendell at 4 for certain minutes. Isaacs minutes may end up staying similar.

And JI is a third in the top 15. But that also means our defense might plummet with the wrong injury or two. Even losing JI has hurt recently.

Well, he is a top 5 Shotbblocker and plays in a top-defense team. Of course the metrics love him.

Until Goga isn't a UFA anymore they aren't going to prioritize him over WCJ.

That being said, there will def be days where Isaac isn't playing or Moe is a bad matchup and Goga will see way more minutes.

I could see Cuban trying to swoop in and get him to have a Goga and Lively tandem.
