I would be fine sticking him on a two-way but realistically his defensive limitations mean he'd never be the right fit for our team. Basketball-Reference lists one of his nicknames as Gen Z-Bo, but I prefer "Snack Randolph".

I'm pretty sure the Clippers didn't get Theis to replace Plumlee. They got Theis so they could have 2 serviceable centers on the roster. If they traded Plumlee, they'd only have 1, and they'd be right back in the same position they were in before they signed Theis..

I think Joe would like to keep the option of being able to go double-big at any and all points in the playoffs so having a guy like Tillman can help accomplish that. Plus it helps your backcourt by pushing JB down to guard when they go double-big and PP becomes the 4th guard in the playoff rotation. No need to acquire a pricey guard.
Then again, how many acquisitions could we afford will bring in a player better than Stephens?

Anyone we add midseason better be someone Joe is gonna use in his rotation for sure and can help us win now (like when we traded for DWhite). Otherwise, it’s just a huge waste.
I think we add someone who fits the Grant TPE at best and/or a buyout minimum guy.

Uh what about Zubac? Anyways I liked Plumlee last year but seems like maybe more of a buy out guy if LAC trades him. Have to see how he bounces back. Anyways I think they need a more mobile big if they add a big guy see below.

Dude is 6'7 barefoot and reportedly can't jump. 7'4 wingspan but still no more short bigs please.
Shooting 60.1% 0-3 feet from the basket for his career. .580 this season and .571 last season. This is over almost 6000 minutes.
I have never noticed this guy even when watching the Pistons but all signs point to him being a worse Grant Williams. Him shooting 33% from wide open corner threes isn't going to make him a good fit, we need tall guys who can jump or who are so tall they don't need to jump.

Bogey 68.8% at the rim
Bagley 68.6%
Wiseman 89.5%
Duren 77.3%
What do they all share? They play for the worst team in the league with zero spacing plus they are not below the rim midgets who suck at finishing.

You wish... and I do too!![]()
Duren fits into the TPE, but why does Detroit give up on the man-child Duren so quickly? They will likely be in fire sale mode by February, yet I would think Jalen is part of the ongoing rebuild. Maybe TPE and throw picks at them.
Dude is a beast, but he's also quite raw still. If Brad gets him for TPE and pocket change, that would be great but for Detroit it's a fireable offense.
