It has to be true though, it makes too much sense.

NYK trades Fournier, and takes back Kornet, Stevens, Brissett (cuts Taj G and some other scrub).
Utah trades the three guys going to Boston and takes back a pick and Walsh, Banton, Svi, Fournier.
Seems too complicated. I feel like trades with that many teams and that many players, you typically only see that kind of stuff happen if there's multiple star players involved - or at least 1 star...you don't usually see a deal that complex with mostly end of the bench scrubs..

Pritchard has been very good since the rough start but I feel his contributions are very replaceable whereas it's very difficult to find a 6'10 guy who can shoot from the outside, handle the ball a bit, and pass well.

They just extended Pritchard, I think it's HIGHLY unlikely they would trade him already.

How do we match Olynyk without him? We are not trading Al for KO.

Svi, Lamar, Brissett, Luke, Banton, and Walsh

Svi, Lamar, Brissett, Luke, Banton, and Walsh
That's a lot of dudes.

Utah still has to figure out how to open 5 roster spots. They probably can't, so we need to find like 4 other teams that will take them on and cut them. I don't see it happening.

Ainge loves 2nd rounders more than Brad. He would find a way. That isn't a big deal

but seriously speaking, Boston traded D Bane. A Young talent for whatever reason. Look at how bad that turned out. Walsh is in his own way a young talented player. Can't trade him for a veteran rental. If they Do I riot!!
They traded the pick to dump Kanters contract. The bane pick was made for Memphis. So they didn’t actually trade Bane himself

Fontecchio is a poor man's Italian Hauser (weak D, 40% from 3). Yurtseven is good on the boards. If the Jazz do end up with some sort of fire-sale after a Lauri trade or just lean into the tank and sell off expiring guys like above, all three of those guys would be worth a look.
KO would be amazing as a buyout but I don't think we'd be his first choice and I'd be surprised if the Jazz went that route anyway. I'm not opposed to doing some sort of 5 or 6 for 1 deal, especially if we're getting some other pieces back via the TPEs, but it's probably too many pieces. I could see it being more likely if it piggy backed off some big deal involving Lauri or their other vets and there are more salaries and bodies moving around.
The Thunder are another team that have interesting bench guys but it feels laughable to try and offer them mediocre 2nds and filler given their insane pick stash.
Possibly. But hard to think of Miami as a true title contender currently and that may matter to KO. I'm sure Miami will try to do something after being embarrassed on the Lillard situation.BK_2020 wrote:celtxman wrote:brackdan70 wrote:I’d love to snag KO…but think buy out is the way. I don’t want to trade Pritchard or Walsh in any outgoing deal, and I am liking Brissett as well.
KO being bought out is ideal. Boston is a real fit for him personally. He has a real role for a championship level team.
Not only he is another stretch four, he helps soothe an elephant in the room. Do we have enough bench scoring, as we depend on Hauser? You look at his stats and he is around 42% this year, but following a miserable stretch that reminds us that he was not reliable in the playoffs.
KO is the kind of deadline insurance this team needs. Not only is he an excellent shooter he is also an excellent and willing passer.
Let Brad and Ainge work this out. Ainge buys Olynyk out, Brad owes him in a future deal.
Watch him go back to Miami after getting bought out.
