But it's not just his height, it's the sleight frame that will make him only playable in spurts off the bench due to his defense
That's just your opinion. Stop acting like you are stating cold hard facts. My opinion, is he looks about 6'2" on film.
https://www.kentucky.com/sports/college/kentucky-sports/uk-basketball-men/article280876208.html"As a recruit, Dillingham was listed at 6-2 and 160 pounds. The latter number was generous. At UK’s televised Pro Day event earlier this month, strength and conditioning coach Brady Welsh noted that Dillingham had added 24 pounds since arriving in Lexington early in the summer. When the official measurements from Pro Day came out a couple of days later, he was listed at 6-3 and 176 pounds.
Rob is only 18. Most pro basketball players get quite a bit bigger/stronger after the age of 18. Idk why you're acting like Rob will look the way he does now forever. You know what Steph looked like in college? I'm sure you probably said the same thing about him (too skinny, only play in spurts off the bench, liability on D) and you probably said the same thing about Steve Nash, Tony Parker, etc.
Rob has already packed only like 24 lbs of muscle since stepping foot on Kentucky's campus.
The worst part about this forum is when we have these long threads that end up being just people debating heights for 90% of the posts, with childish back and forth debating an inch here or there. It's insufferable. We'll find out more accurate measurements closer to the draft. In the meantime, the all we can go off is the article I just posted in this post..
Rondo, Morant, Garland. Those guys all defensive liabilities, guys who can only play in short spurts off the bench?
and...you're just stating your opinion. Thing about my opinion is it's educated unlike that dumb post you submitted as some sort of proof
https://news.yahoo.com/john-calipari-taking-big-gamble-110000646.htmlIf you can't see that Dillingham is clearly an inch shorter than both Sheppard and Wagner then there's no hope for you.
1) That picture doesn't prove anything with a bunch of guys standing at different angles, on different parts of the court, some hunching over, some standing straight up, some are standing closer to the camera than others, etc. Sheppard also has high hair so that pic makes him look taller..
2) Even if Rob is an inch shorter than Sheppard and Wagner, Sheppard and Wagner could be 6'3" which makes Rob 6'2". I've already said I'm guessing Rob is 6'2"..and guessing is all any of us are doing.
Now let's try to talk basketball here. All these threads that are just filled with posts that argue whether a guy is an inch taller/shorter is lame. I mean for crying out loud, Payton Pritchard has been in the league for 4 seasons now and we still don't know for sure if he's 6'1" or 6'2"...some sites list him 6'1", some sites list him 6'2". Who really gives a sh*t. What matters is what he does on the court.
And GTFO with this Trae and Garland can't be on a team that can make a deep playoff run BS. Trae and Garland are all-stars, franchise cornerstones and still very young. If a guy that good was in this draft, they'd probably be going no. 1..or at the worst, no. 2 in the draft.
Trae led his team to ECF at age 22. Sure, Ja is more athletic than Rob but Rob is a way better shooter. Also, Ja is listed at 6'2, not 6'3" like you claim.
https://www.nba.com/player/1629630/ja-moranthttps://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/2019/05/16/nba-draft-combine-ja-morant/3699412002/Rondo was a good defender but he wasn't close to the shooter that Rob is.
I'm not saying Rob is as good as these guys, but even a poor man's version could be worth a top 5 pick in this draft.
Rob's combination of speed + shooting + playmaking and production as an 18 yr old high major freshman is enough to have him in the conversation for a top 5 pick - especially in a weaker draft.
If you disagree, then fine but bring a better argument than "he's too small now I'll prove it by posting a picture of a bunch of guys standing at different angles and standing at different closeness to the camera".
