No one ranks by "if I were starting a franchise" otherwise there would be college QBs listed.

this year must mean something else where you come from.

I just dont care much about Dak's resume it doesnt impress me, what I saw from Herbert impresses me more. You can have Dak higher, it is ok.

Yeah Dak was better than Herbert this year.

He also has a better resume than Herbert

Herbert has ZERO PLAYOFF WINS

your entire argument is "he's younger"

How long has it been since the Chargers won a ring?....yet you have more faith in that. You're a joke

Well if you dont go mental and try to understand maybe it would be more clear. Herbert being younger is not the argument, he just didnt have enough time prove himself in NFL, and those 4 years he had his career was managed terribly by Chargers. I cant compare the resumes of a 8 year career of a quarterback with a 4 year career of a quarterback who was stuck in a joke of a franchise called Chargers.

All in all what he showed in these 4 years and tools he has tells me he'll be a very very good quarterback once he gets a good coach and a play caller. You might disagree with this assessment, and this is totally ok

And to answer you, yes I have more faith in Herbert winning a super bowl than Dak. Just like Mahomes broke through Chiefs inability to win and he has the talent to do that with Chargers.

This is just my opinion though, it is ok to disagree without cutting your wrists.

Ah so Herbert gets a pass for being stuck on the Chargers but Dak doesn't get that for being on the Cowboys, a franchise who we are told repeatedly has done anything in 800 years.

I think Dallas drafts very well and has a very nice roster, I feel like I say this at least twice a day.

I do disagree, and without slitting my wrists.

Maybe you should consider slitting yours though with an opinion that horrible

Also I think we've seen enough of Herbert to conclude he is definitely no Mahomes

Dont think he has to be Mahomes, if he can get somewhat close Chargers have some building blocks to build around him.

But all this probably should be on the Chargers thread.

you are just too nice dude

Wonder what this dude would do if god forbid Dak has a season ending injury and his replacement leads Cowboys to super bowl then wins the job for next year. He would be mad as hell lol even if Dallas drought is over.

I've been a Dallas fan 40+ years and cheer for the team no matter who is playing.

I do think that scenario is near impossible though. So I'd have to eat crow on that front I guess.

But hey, it happened to the Eagles...showing that this game isn't all about the QB

Herbert’s playcaller/head coach is Andy Reid as well? I wasn’t aware both were in similar situations

You're trying to say that Herbert is as good as Mahomes but he just lacks Andy Reid?

The success or failure of a player has just as much to do with circumstance as it does talent

Do I personally think Herbert has mahomes’ talent? No

Do I think it’s possible if the situations were reversed we’d have a very different mahomes and a very different Herbert? Likely

Dak is dak because he got to develop his first few years behind offensive lines and running games that were at the top of the nfl. Daks not dak if he gets drafted by the chargers, or the jaguars, bears yada yada

Herbert is unquestionably talented. His first 4 years numbers are better than daks first 4 years. All that whilst in a pretty brutal situation.

To ignore surrounding circumstances and assume all situations are equal is a strange take.

So if you’re starting a franchise you would laugh at the thought of having the next Manning as your QB? You’re right, that is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. I mean who would want a Manning to QB their team right?

Well it’s been 3+ years and he’s still not better than Dak by any stretch of the imagination.
