I'm basing it off of what was quoted "potential ceiling".

Alpy has got a sweet touch on his shot as is while Chet shoots with great form.

They are both young so I can't say Alpy won't get better at shooting the 3 as Chet may improve also.

Neither are finished products yet however if they improve on what they already can do then Alperen has shown he has better basketball skills than Chet.

I think every GM would take Chet and that's not a slight on Sengun. But very few players have Chet's skillset and size at both ends.

senguns ceiling is damontas sabonis, neither are great defenders which makes them easily exploitable againist pick and roll guards.

Holgrem is more of a modern big, give me him 10/10 over sengun

Chet is shooting 40 percent from three as a rookie. If he improves from THAT, that's basically game over lol.

He has volume on his side too, basically attempting double the amount of Alpy.

To get to the other parts of your comment, defensive gap between them is the size of an ocean.

You even mentioned FT there, Chet has a huge advantage on him as well.

The only clear cut advantage Alpy has over Chet is playmaking skills overall, which is a huge advantage I'm not denying that. But listing "only threes, and calling it amaybe" is really wild.

How polished he is and his understanding of the game is way beyond his years especially for a big. So many little things go unnoticed being on a great young team

He doesn’t force anything yet can being 7ft 1, super unselfish, low turnover eco which is great for his size.

The shooting, handling, FT conversion, defensive awareness and shot blocking capacity and elite portability is all there

KD/Dirk together only had a couple of 20 FGA’s seasons and would be considered low usage superstars in relative terms (even more so today)

There’s hasn’t been a change when Shai is on vs off so far ORTG and efficiency wise and if it stays that way then watch out.

I honestly am more comfortable in Chet getting to his ceiling and potential than Wemby.

A KD/Dirk hybrid while being a top 10 defender is certainly MVP material in my eyes.

Look at how easy and comfortable it is on court. Allowing 5 out offensive spread, two man games inside/out, concepts of spacing, shooting form, big man fundamentals it’s all there.

Lol have you ever actually seen Sengun play? He's 21 and already better than any version of Sabonis but thats his ceiling?

There are very very few players in this league I would swap Sengun for. Chet isn't one of them. I wouldn't even take the deal if the Thunder attached picks to Chet. I just know we have a future superstar on our hands.

Combining DPOY anchorage with 40%+ three point shooting AND the ability to put it on the floor as a C is a gamebreaking skillset and the league has never really seen anyone like Chet. There were some prototypes but non as complete or fully realized. And he'll only get a lot better.

I'll take it over being an offensive hub unless we're talking a 100th percentile, Jokic like development.

this is really tough. should be closer, but i went chet. love them both. early believer in both. gonna be great bigs to watch for years to come, health permitting.

i am not taking a thing away from sengun's mettle. his game is smooth and i don't confuse that for weakness in any way. but chet is a KILLER killer, and i love it.
