His "per 36 minutes" stats as a Raptor are very decent: 11.7 pts, 8.2 reb, 5.5 ast, 1,6 stl, 1,6 blk... And pretty good D...
I am mostly confused because of this:
July 30, 2021: Waived by the Memphis Grizzlies.
October 14, 2022: Waived by the Milwaukee Bucks.
October 21, 2023: Waived by the Detroit Pistons.
How could three teams not see what I see in his game?
And on the top of everything, he is young and his salary this year is only $411,794...
I am really confused!
And I'm wondering, should we sign a multi-year contract with him now?
He was waived by the Grizzlies because he wasn't fully healthy as he suffered a tweak in that surgically repaired knee during his time there. (which led him to think about quitting basketball before his brother convinced him out of it).
Bucks signed him to Ex-10 deal and you know those deals rarely pan out to an actual NBA contract, and also that Bucks have to reserve a roster spot to Giannis's brother.
He made a choice to sign Ex-10 deal with the Pistons vs other teams (like the Raps) because he thought it was the best chance for him to make it to their roster, yet it actually was the worse choice considering Pistons have so many centers.
