I think the Magic need better defenders on the wing. Isaac isn't reliable, Ingles is a sloth, and Okeke isn't good.

Pair that with the inevitable 20+ point game for Doug McDermott. It’s going to be a blast.

Not at all this season. The roster is too flawed to put him on the hot seat. You can't make chicken salad out chicken $hit with lousy personnel on offense.

If the front office makes the appropriate personnel moves before next season and they don't perform, then his seat is justifiably hot and he could lose his job.

Franz panicked. Clock started ticking and he had to chase the ball and still get a shot off. He could have passed it but he panicked. Can't blame him too much there.

I'm hard pressed to blame him.

Franz grabbed the ball with his back to the basket like 35 feet from the bucket with 1.9 seconds left.

*Maybe* he could have dribbled once to try and get closer, but Williams and Kleber were right on Banchero so there wasn't really a pass to be made.

It was hail mary situation - banchero to make the first, then someone to get the ball, then to get a proper shot with 2 seconds left, plenty of things had to go right, and plenty of things had gone wrong already, still if WCJ knew how to dunk we may have won it...

That was a fun game.

I'm super proud to be a Magic fan. They play the right way and for each other. Showed love and respect after even a tension-filled game.

You hear it all the time about a team that doesn't give up. But there's a difference between continuing to fight and legitimately believing you're going to overcome the odds and win the game.

He sure is. Spurs can't defend at all though and have the same PG issues we have although their roster construction is by design.

Maybe the Magic won't baby Isaac and he'll actually play on Wednesday. I certainly don't want to watch WCJ pout while I'm there watching.

Do you have a rule change idea

Intentional fouling in the last 3 minutes of the game are treated like technicals in that they give the team a FT & the ball
Now that I think about it though. What about the other way around. Say Im down and its under 24 secs. I cant foul to get the ball back with that rule

Paolo had some rough stretches on defense but he played a damn good game on the other side. The efficiency is looking so much better these last two games. He just needs to know that he's going to get a ton of shots. No need to force bad ones.

The frustrating thing is that WCJ missed 2 point blank layups, Paolo missed way too many free throws again, Ingles once again let a ball bounce half a foot in front of him and lost it to someone 3 feet away.. it's like come on.

This team needs to toughen up fast. There is no reason to get crushed 35-12 in a quarter because the opponent decides to play zone. Zone is a normal basketball defense, there is noting that special about it. Yes we have a lack of shooters but a zone shouldn’t completely take you off the game like it does with this team. These guys need to get their s#it together on free throws.

Also the defense was a joke. 35 pts allowed in each of the final 3 quarters.

Start JI and sit him the rest of the game is straight stupid.

I think my anger at the front office might be a little amplified if/when we stand pat at the deadline. That’s more of a testament to my belief in the team than anything else. Really think a few tweaks that lead to a functional roster could make this team sneaky competitive. We’re obviously not going to be contenders this year, but would like to see a commitment to that direction sooner rather than later.

What was the point of starting Issac if he played great and didn't get hurt but they limited him to 8 minutes? I feel like another 10-15 minutes of his and we win especially in that horrible 3rd.

He played two minutes in the 2nd quarter. I'm pretty sure he had landed awkwardly after some contact in that second stretch. I wonder if they just decided to play it safe if he mentioned tweaking something, even if it was minor. It doesn't make any sense to plan to play him 6 minutes in the 1st and 2 minutes in the 2nd.

Read on Twitter

Sounds like what the broadcast said was inaccurate and that 8 minutes wasn't the plan going into the game.
