Yeah, " beast" is a stretch, but WCJ would help GS out and be a good fit. The Athletics Anthony Slater said he's a name that has been discussed by the FO. I like the trade for GS

Re: Wardell, meet Wendell - GSW/ORL/BRK
I don’t think Orlando owes a first in a WCJ for Claxton swap at this point. And I’ve long been higher on Claxton and lower on WCJ than the majority here.
I have no idea what value the Cole/Moody swap adds, but don’t think Orlando would care about that.. they’ve got Suggs/Black, Howard, and Houstan for the future.. If they’re bringing in a young guard it should be one better than that group not just another body..
Think they’ve want the value made up in a different way.
The GSW part feels right. And the Brooklyn part feels good.

Players make sense for Orlando but WCJ cpntract is too good to add frp and would rather see what we have in Jett Howard than Moody.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Take out the Orlando pick with almost no protections and put in the 25 DEN 1st and I think you have something. But Claxton on an expiring isn't worth that good of a pick.
Really like the GSW portion of this though. Think its perfect.

they actually dont make sense, as Orlando really needs a PG first and foremost.

If this is the best offer for Claxton I think the Nets keep him.

I am curious how would Claxton look next to Paolo. Similar to JI ? I dont care for Moody, but if he can shoot we could try him for cheap if Jett doesnt pan out.

Correct. This is not nearly enough for Claxton.

Maybe they do, or maybe he signs with a cap space team. Which is the same risk a team trading for him is taking, and why he’s on the market at all.

free agents always sign with my team if I want them to. Jalen Brunson never leaves. And not only do they never leave they always sign for less because reasons.
It always amazes me how posters have zero issues understanding that pending free agents for 29 teams have less value because of this, but the free agents on their teams should return locked up prices or they will just automatically keep them at a number they like.
It's just such a glaring blind spot for so many posters here. It's wild.

I think if Claxton did not come out and already say he wants to resign with the Nets that the fans or ownership/management would be intimidated to trade him for anything. But, this is not that case with this particular player.

Agree. It's a big factor...there's certainly some degree of optimism that no trade is made without some handshakes being made, but it's not for sure...nobody is talking about OG or Pascal leaving after their new teams paid dearly for those "rentals". But, definitely, it's a big risk...I think it's compounded with Claxton (who I'd love for the fit in ORL) because his next deal is much harder to predict...he is very much a specialist, but an elite one. One could argue that OG is a similar risk - if he thinks he's getting a max, for example. If Claxton gets more than $20 per - there's a real danger that it becomes an albatross, even if he maintains his high level of defensive play. I wouldn't say a negative value, but maybe enough to be too much for a guy that should be, maybe, the 4th best player on a contender.
On the other hand, it's equally juvenile when a fan casually spouts, "Why should I give up assets - we can just sign him this summer for free?". This is only even remotely likely if there's some Brunson-level tampering or if the player has some real connection or even made a request to be traded there...otherwise, it's increasingly rare to "swipe" a FA with cash alone - unless it's a gross overpay he couldn't turn down (and his old team wouldn't pay).
