He's done it more in his Warriors tenure than DDR has in his career overall imo. I get Wigs isn't Wolves fans favorite, but man you really don't like the guy lol.

Doesn’t have anything to do with like or dislike. Wiggins is negative value and DDR is playing better and more valuable (and expiring GSW need).

GS doesn’t need an expiring and it’s not Wiggins for DDR, it’s adding LaVine’s contract and DDR and subtracting one of GS’ few eliable defenders (who is better in that facet than DDR)

GSW does need an expiring. We all know that.

Not really. Warriors' contract situation isn't all that bad next year.

Warriors' 2024 salary: 144 mils with Curry, Wiggins, Green, GPII, Looney, Kuminga, Moody, Pod, TJD, and Santos

2023 Cap: 136 mils
2023 Luxury tax: 165 mils
2023 2nd apron: 182 mils

If we assume that the luxury tax threshold for 2024 is at least 170 mils, Warriors have 26 mils to fill 4-5 roster spots including Klay's extension. I mean, it won't hurt to have more expiring contracts, but they don't need to pay a heavy price to dump Wiggins' contract for salary purposes either.

No “we” don’t. They already have two large expirings that will allow to get under the apron

If his deal is too big, Chi just keeps him. NO WAY they use Caruso to dump Lavine. Would rather trade DDR instead

No, he's asking if you if saw the same reports we saw. I think that has to be a yes as closely as you follow Chicago. Yet you still proposed Chicago getting full salary relief, a prospect, and a pick.

Maybe he over corrected but I don't think the market for LaVine is as robust as you seem to and definitely not GSW, maybe the Lakers are desperate enough, but they still shouldn't overpay when the market has been pretty clear on LaVine.

Sure, I know what he's saying. I think we all know there is no way Chi will just dump Lavine. Is his value great-of course not. But he's a marginal All Star in his prime. And to attach Caruso to dump him-that's crazy.

I think we should trade DDR to Philly and keep Lavine, if no one wants him. CWhite/Lavine is a nice backcourt-it's the Lavine/DDR pairing that we struggle with.

It's not as much about the play on the court, although that does factor in, it's the contract. With this new CBA that contract is brutal.
The major plus for Lavine is scoring and he is scoring under 20 per game in this super scoring season.

Perhaps Caruso was too much. BUT the money the Bulls save can't just be ignored by us fans as much as we do just because it's not our money.
The Bulls not only save this year, they wipe the slate clean and instantly become major FA players with Coby White and Patrick Williams.
Personally I would want to have cap the following year with so many guys become UFA like Tatum/Mitchell/Ingram/Murray plus the draft class of 2021.

Anyway, if you think you can get a greater return for Caruso on his own when you minus the asset(s) it's going to take to get off Lavine then that's ok. I understand that and it's close.
I'm not certain Lavine/DDR can go together. Not unless more bad money is coming back. Bulls would need $54m coming back at minimum and if you're asking the other team to take on that much extra money they're going to ask for compensation.

Good post, totally agree. I’m pretty sure LaVine is still a Bull after the deadline. DDR probably gets moved and the asking price for Caruso is too much, so he stays as well.

Yeah, Chicago's gonna be keeping Lavine. No one's taking that contact without significant assets being attached...
