Grant Williams is betting on Jason Kidd being awful.

Could see Rich Paul insisting MarJon go somewhere other than Utah.

I think he included it to say that Atlanta was calling around the league to see who would be interested in Murray and what they would be willing to give up. Nehm also said that the Bucks didn't have as much to offer as other teams.

The idea of getting Murray for our scraps was never realistic. Would have to be a 3 way and one of Middleton or Lopez going out at least.

Those Nehm trades were as blah as blah gets. Go ahead and try to sell me on any of them but not a one changes the trajectory of the team or pushes them over the top.

Ooo if Minny is trading Leonard Miller how do we get in on that.

[Jerry and George are seated at the diner across from each other]

George: (tosses newspaper onto table in frustration) You know what i find astonishing?

Jerry: I'm sensing this is rhetorical

George: This league is absolutely brimming with talent. There's more talent now than ever before.

Jerry: Here we go... (takes a sip from his cup)

George: They're talking expansion, there's so much talent. All this talent, and we have no depth.

Jerry: None?

George: Zero!

Jerry: (winces) Ohhhh

Jerry: Wait, what about Bobby Portis? People seem to like him.

George: Fool's gold.

Jerry: That's a bit harsh.

George: Listen, he's a fun player, but he cant defend.

Jerry: (points) Gotta defend.

George: Show me one great team that didnt defend!

Jerry: Can't be done.

Jerry: Alright, what about Pat Connaughton?

George: (shrieking) Pat Connaughton?! Pat Connaughton??!! Jerry, he hasnt been good in three years!

[Kramer enters the diner and slides into the booth next to Jerry]

Kramer: (gesturing at George) What's he worked up about?

Jerry: It's the Bucks again. George doesnt think they got the bench to compete.

Kramer: (points) I'll tell you who's good... That Andre Jackson Jr! You should see him go, Jerry. The kid is incredible! (pounds fists on table).

George: Cant stay on the court...

Kramer: Yeah, well, there's something fishy about that. Im telling you, it doesnt make any sense!

Jerry: Are you thinking conspiracy?

Kramer: It's too early to tell, but Ive got my eye on it (raises his eyebrow dramatically, over exaggerating)

Jerry: So it's hopeless?

George: (puts his head down on table) We're finished.

Jerry: The window is closed

George: (head still down) slammed shut

Jerry: On the bright side, I guess you'll have time to start dating again.

(George slowly picks his head up, shooting Jerry a devastated look)

[laughter, cue outro)

Considering the 2nd major trade for the bucks in less than 5 months and considering for the 2nd trade in a row they have limited asssts to get a really good player. There sure is alot of smoke on murray to the bucks. Its damn near in every article associated with trade rumors.Has to be some fire there. There wasnt this much dame hype

Not sure why bud can't take another year off. So far his stock has only gone up, he's had a pretty good track record and there are only so many championship coaches. Hell we hire him immediately next week if we weren't the ones to fire him. He could do espn or something to stay relevant for a year.

Art.

Seriously though. I’ve kind of come to terms with our window having passed. Just never drafted/developed a single young dude for a decade. Sucks, but you can’t go on like that.

Marc Stein made a big deal in that podcast about how the Mavs barely have anyone playing over 6’7 and desperately need size.

Idk the extent to which Grant Williams solves our problems but Eric Nehm floating a straight swap with Bobby very well might be a trial balloon on behalf of the team.

Horst also has experience with Jason Kidd not quite maximizing players’ potential if the bet is that’s related to Grant Williams’ decline after getting paid.

For the Bucks, trading for Williams would be an opportunity to try to trade for a distressed asset. Williams is three years younger than Portis and has one more year on his contract than Portis, who has a $13.4 million player option for the 2025-26 season. With the Celtics, Williams showed an ability to bother some of the league’s top scoring wings, which could end up being helpful for the Bucks in the postseason.

I can't think of another coach being out of the league for 2 years and coming back to a high profile gig. Also can't see Bud on ESPN, not a lot of personality there.

I would pass on Grant. He doesn't have the feet PJ did even though everyone compares him to PJ. I'm also not trading Bobby just to replace him with another head case.

Is it just me or did Crowder start to look a little more like Crowder last night? It seems like he’s a little redundant with Grant Williams if he can get back in shape. But having two Crowders would be a pain in the ass, just not sure getting less athletic is what we want to do.
