The only reason I could see would be as dumpable salary filler to make a bigger trade work / as a way of absorbing a more onerous contract in return along with picks...

You could have said the same thing about Bagley 3.5 years after being drafted by the Kings he wasn't playing and Cade's(and Bagley's) agent blasted the Kings for not trading him and not playing him. Then the Kings found a GM dumb enough to not only give up multiple 2nd round picks for him but also a decent backup rotation player for him.

Ok, bagley sucks and all, but he was a 14/7 guy for 3 years before he was benched and eventually traded. Killian hasn't shown anything resembling nba level production.

Not really. Bagley is a talented nba scorer, while Hayes has no nba talent. Forget about what we gave for Bagley, Washington just gave us two 2nd rounders and two competent vet expirings for him. No one is giving anything like that for Killian.

You got it backwards, Detroit gave Washington the draft picks so they would take Bagley's contract.

Bagley is a flawed player in many important ways, but he’s not nearly the scrub Killian is. And Wiseman is even worse than that.

Killian and Wiseman are China level bad. Bagley should play high level Euro ball.

Bagley at least paint scores and rebounds but he has trex arms he cant play defense. Hes just not a modern NBA type player.

Weaver bid vs himself on Bagley like a fish GM. He traded for Wiseman(and Bagley) after seeing they both stunk ITL. Donkey gms gonna donk.
