I felt like from that moment on the refs had absolutely no clue as to how they wanted to officiate the game. If you can’t see something so blatantly obvious near the painted area how can you even see what’s going on 30 feet away as Holiday throws up a one handed rocket launcher. We talk about players all the time in regards to choking and feeling the pressure. These refs looked so out of their element its uncomfortable to see.

From that angle it was the most egregious call. But an offensive player is also not allowed to literally grasp the defender's leg, and Senguin (how do you spell it) did just that.

The other thing that’s really interesting to me is that from the opening tip it seemingly didn’t matter that Brunson was getting bumped on every drive. Getting hip checked navigating around simple screens. Guys swiping at his arms and hands and even getting hit on some basic traps. Remember that Houston has committed the 3rd most fouls in the entire NBA this season. As far as basic nuances go - you’ll often see refs allow guys be a little more physical in the 4th where every possession feels its weight worth in gold. For whatever reason the crew tonight almost looked at HOU as some bizarro version of an early 90s rugged Knicks defense and that’s what’s even more perplexing.

Thibs is not going to change people. No use complaining about him at this point.

Posters saying “when our injured guys return” yada yada, but Thibs is the one injuring half of these dudes lol.

I knew Donte or Precious was next. Said it last post game. Donte played the whole 2nd half until he got hurt. He was gassed after the comeback and had to ask out. Precious only sat in the 1st half a bit because of foul trouble. Saved himself.

The All Star Break will just be a temporary reprieve from Tom’s sickness. He doesn’t believe in rest or stamina and will never trust the bench.

i really don’t see it happening. he and leon are besties

If he keeps this up it will force their hand in the off-season. Yes, really. This is not sustainable conduct

So Randle falling on the floor by a dirty play by the heat was thibs fault? OG elbow spurs 3 weeks as a knicks player is thibs fault? Mitch landed on someone’s foot and foot injuries are common for 7 footers. Maybe Ihart yes, and this with DDV which hopefully is a cramp, could be an argument. But stop blaming thibs, maybe just typical bad knicks luck

Yea he should get back on defense. But the refs have been ridiculous lately. Opposing teams have been allowed to play physical on him as they're double teaming him. They've been allowed to throw bigger defenders to body Brunson and then throw another guy at him. And in this game, refs just watched swallowing their whistles.

Thompson is a great defender and all but as a rookie, he's allowed to be as physical as he is. Rookies typically don't get that benefit.

With you 100%, its like Brunson doesn't get the calls whenever he drives.

I think Thibs creamed his pants when he watched Thompson played defense.

Clearly not a natural shooting form. He turns into Brunson kicking out his leg and dropping his arm on him as he twisted his whole body to get the contact. Really horrible call to end a game.

Thibs is responsible for all the injuries. When you push peoples’ bodies beyond their limits time and again, you increase the risk of injury. Most injuries tend to happen when players are fatigued.

Thibs has pushed every single player beyond reason. 40+ grueling minutes consistently when a player is used to 30 or less? Look at Linsanity. Injury was inevitable at that pace.

Thibs rather go 25-10 and injure half his guys than go 21-14 with a bench that’s utilized.

Did Thibs have anything to say about the officiating?
I dunno.

Whose injury did Thibodeau cause?

He just played Donte the entire 2nd half after playing him 40 mpg with high usage for weeks now. Lots of energy expended on the comeback and he doesnt give him a breather.

He played OG 43 mpg for 3 games in 4 nights. Around that time he started wearing the elbow tape, and then has surgery. We knew he was injury prone.

He played Isaiah almost 40 mpg for a few weeks, and when he got hurt Tom said Isaiah was dealing with his achilles again for a little while. Still overplayed him anyway.

He played Mitch for 2 games after he hurt his ankle (this one is on the trainers too).

All of their injuries were from overuse, or at least Thibs didnt help. What point are you trying to make man? You’re seriously okay with these minutes when we’re dropping like flies? He’s playing 7 damn guys in February. Deuce played 5 minutes and Bojan could have played more. We got young legs Toppin and Brown just sitting there for no reason. Put em in for 5 minutes to give some energy and rest if we’re not going to sign anyone else.

Whatever. Always an excuse from some of you, when Thibs always burns his guys out like this. I hope the January wins were worth it.

On the one hand, outrageous. On the other, crooked zebras spared us the inevitable Brunson injury in OT. He looked like the walking dead out there.
