I could not care any less when we traded for a guy who averages 20 points a game while 80 percent of our roster was going to be out for more than a month. The overly optimistic attitude of many Knicks fans during the trade deadline was headscratching to me. It was as though we were putting the finishing touches of a superteam with an 100 percent healthy roster. And that these games before the all-star break were nothing more than preseason exhibition matchups not losing any sleep over.

I can't believe that there are still people who have zero worries despite losing 4 out of our last 5 games while having a coach who is running what's left of his roster into the ground. Do you really believe that we are going to continue to be a top 4 team for the next month? Or that Randle and OG are going to be ready to play all of the minutes that Thibs usually likes to burn out of his players? It really sucks that as a Knicks fan there is always something that sets us back whenever it seems like things are heading in the right direction.
There are concerns, mine is...will Thib's know what do with all this depth once we are fully healthy. Because it would be a shame if players like Precious and Bojan, Deuce , get marginalized in the name of riding your starters...

I think you know the answer to this deep down.

He won’t change.

Dude could have prime Larry Bird and Hakeem Olajuwon on the bench and he’ll still give them 15 mpg for his starters.

Honestly I would be ecstatic if Deuce and Precious could get 15 mpg. Bojan should get a little more...atleast. The Celtics manage it ...I just have to hope against hope that Thibs sees the light.

When I was in the hospital, I got to watch way more TV than usual. Every sports channel is wall to wall advertising for gambling sites. When there aren't gambling commercials, there are actual shows dedicated to gambling. MSG has those two goofy assh*les who have their betting show. Usually comes on before the game. Then there are infomercials that run a few times a day for various gambling apps etc.

Good luck with that. Nobody is investigating anything.

Here in Texas, a casino empire just bought the Mavs along with land to build a casino on. Next they’ll bribe city leadership to make casinos legal, then they’ll make taxpayers foot the bill for construction. The genie’s out of the bottle

I admire the casino industry. It's like capitalism distilled. Extracts wealth from those with less and concentrates into an organization that is already wealthy. Pretends skill is involved, but it's 99% pure chance, outside of poker and a few scattered outlier games, and the whole thing is rigged in favor of the large business. Finally, it markets the sh*t out of itself as entertainment. As an added bonus, it takes advantage of a segment of the population that has a mental condition, but lets other parts of society deal with the fallout while they collect the profits. And of course, as late stage capitalism morphs into corporate fascism, they "lobby" the government to keep the gravy train going, as you pointed out.

Might as well get in bed with sports, our version of the Roman Coliseums.

Oh, last comment on the game: Burks sucks.
Low IQ ballhog.

He's like the anti OG.
OG came here, with Randle out, and the ball moved and everyone defended.

Burks comes here, sucks on defense, calls his own shot, rarely passes. Ball sticks to him. He's ass.

Burks looked good on Detroit because he's one of usage players where they can look good dominating the ball, but not so good when they have to give it up to more talented players.

It's great the Knicks got Bogbog. He's a team player.
Burks is just an ISO hog, which unfortunately Thibs mistakes for being good.

I wouldn't mind if Burks was fine with spotting up and having the occassional iso called for him when the bench squad is out there and we need some buckets, but Thibs plays him as the PG which is just asinine, bro NEVER runs an offense, just calls his own number or passes it off to whoever the other guard is out there and they swing the ball/run the play.

If Dolan was smart, he'd install betting terminals at each seat of his Sphere and ask the NBA for permission to broadcast games inside it. Split some of the proceeds with other teams.

Maybe they'd let the Knicks win a chip for all the help with the $.

I made the mistake of thinking your version of Burks might be the one the Knicks were getting.

Took two games to see I was dead wrong.

Trouble is, Hart is so ass if he plays more than 20 mpg, I find myself hoping Burks subs in, if only because he can make a jumpshot.
Trouble is, he's not a knockdown shooter, but always calls his own shot, and he just wrecks the offense like Hart does, but in a different way.

Burks never was anything special, we already know what he is. Certainly has a role, just relying on him for too much offense right now. Get Randle and OG back and that reliance gets diminished.

Does it? Burks was hoisting up shots with Brunson on the floor.

Thibs talked the FO into the fact that Burks has PG skills. But he doesn't. He has tertiary passing skills. But with a mindset he should run any offense he's part of when he's on the floor.

FO f*cked up not getting a real backup PG.

This is on Thibs for always thinking Burks is a PG, did it last time he was here in NY too. If he told Burks NO YOU'RE THE SG STOP BRINGING THE BALL UP, then maybe we could get a decent version of Burks. I feel like Burks didn't do this on other teams, only with the Knicks. Only time I remember Burks playing a PG role for another team was maybe as a rookie in Utah when they were still figuring out if he was a PG or a SG.

Honestly, I hate when they come out with this after the fact. Like yes, good it proves we were right in being annoyed, but ultimately it doesn't "fix" anything, not like NBA is taking back the win and saying 'next time Rockets/Knicks meet, they will finish the OT game' or anything like that, so its basically just an empty apology that doesn't help us in anyway other than getting to say we were right to be upset with the BS call.

I see people still have faith in Thibs. The youth and useful player destroyer. I’m officially out that’s yall coach. Be happy with overplaying guys instead of going with what you have. F this guy…

To go from overplaying Deuce to not playing him at all. Took way too long to go to Bojan. Yeah Thibs can EAD.

The problem with Thibs is that he coaches 90's style basketball in a modern NBA. Although it will win you some games, it will put a damper on your players, as we are currently witnessing.
