We all know the way the Jones run things is not exactly how any of us would run things however I find it kind of hard to believe that Jimmy is the ONLY coach that could ever handle the culture. Did something change when he went to Miami? Was he not able to handle the culture there?

Bill Parcels is a HOF coach, he wasn’t able to handle the culture either? McCarthy has had 3 consecutive 12 win seasons, does he all of a sudden forget how to handle the culture once the playoffs start? He seems to handle it fine during the regular season.

So is the problem the culture or is it the players? Are they not able to handle the culture or are they not able to handle the pressure? We all saw the look in Dak’s eyes during that last playoff game. Was the culture getting to him or was it the pressure of the situation?

That’s a legit question, I’m not trying to be sarcastic.

I actually found it shocking that Dalton Schultz said Jerry Jones lets fans watch the players work out.

Like at best a player only finds that creepy, at worst it reinforces the impression that the main priority in Dallas isn't to win games, but to provide a spectacle.

It’s strange cause a lot of the media that cover the cowboys always complain that the practices are off limits. That they only get certain days and privileges to see.

That impression would be wrong.

I’ve done the tour Schultz is talking about. They walk you by the weight room. Everyone is instructed not to speak to the players and there are sections fans are not allowed to go through. This is no different though than the way they did things when their practice faculty was located in Valley Ranch.

The fact that the fans are allowed such close access is part of the reason why Cowboys players remain so popular after they retire. Their popularity is the reason they seem to get more media opportunities after they retire.

It seems to me that Schultz might just be a little salty because he’s playing for less now than what the Cowboys had offered him before he signed with Houston last year.

It's not the norm around the league though. Dallas might be the only team that has fan tours of the facility. From that perspective I get why players would find it odd. Especially when they've been around & played at other spots.

In Seattle, the only time you get to really interact with players is during training camp. Even then, the facility (locker rooms, weight room, etc.) is closed off to fans. So, unless the players are out on the practice fields during camp, you basically have little to no interaction with players & coaches. That's pretty much the norm around the league for the most part. It sounds like Dallas is very unique in that sense.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong btw. Just different.

Not only that. Jerry has a real estate division, Oil division, etc., running out of his stadium that has nothing to do with football operations.

I read somewhere Houston likes deandre swift. I don’t know what the eagles will do but if Houston signs swift then maybe they go after Henry? Saquon would be nice but honestly I just don’t see howie spending a ton of money on him which he will command. I could be wrong though

The Eagles seem to thinking about RB’s the same way. Cowboys are not going to pay any RB more than $5M a season. They just lost Pollard and the Eagles just lost Swift. Other teams are going to look very different next season.

Yeah I don’t know what’s gonna happen. It’s weird because there’s a lotta smoke about the eagles going hard after saquon Barkley right now but that doesn’t sound like a howie thing to do. If I had to guess I think the eagles use a mid round pick on a rb and use a rb rotation again.

Especially after I hated the Giants picking him 2nd so much.

Can't complain about 3 years, $37.75 million though. The RB market is a joke.

$10M-$12M is on the high end for a RB these days.

Not really

The market dictates the value. Josh Jacob’s got a similar contract. Swift and pollard got 8 million a year and aren’t in the same category as Barkley and Jacob’s
