There’s a decent amount of bigs that are available this offseason and OKC is a contender looking for a 28-30mpg piece. Whether that’s locking up Claxton on a big front loaded deal, or just overpaying Jonas/Jalen/Hartenstein on a very bloated one year deal with a team option..
If Presti even trade the sole first rounder he have I will be so hyped for free agency. Just cause that will raise my expectations.
With the plethora of available bigs I really expect us to do something. Someone who can take 20 minutes of playing time at minimum.
I think that’s best for OKC. They don’t need to start a rookie clock / development next year. They can use the cap space for the bench (or ideally Claxton..imo) this summer.
I would’ve traded for Pascal, felt like I could win a championship this year, and traded Josh if Pascal resigned. But because he didn’t..
I think Presti is comfortable with his trio and will add a piece or two more that fit around it while keeping the draft capital to sustain the team through the repeater tax.
So I’d trade Joe, Josh, and Dieng this summer.. And I think that’s where I lose a lot of OKC fans.. But I’m keeping Cason and Dort. So Joe is probably getting poached in 12 months anyways. Josh I’m trading if I add a 20+ mil long term piece. Keeping him if I don’t.
