But if we ended up with the sixth pick I'd be taking a longgggggggg look at Donavan Clingan. . I'd prefer Sarr, if we managed to get really lucky, but if we wanted to solidify our frontcourt this not a bad option. Jak and Kelly for next two years while Jak mentors his long term replacement/backup.
His combination of physical traits and college stats makes him arguably the most sure thing in this draft.
Not advocating for it, but pointing out it could be a real chance we'd do it.
Givony has Clingan going 3rd overall which means that's what some not-so-small sampling of FOs think.
Is it stupid to even bother trying to rank Clingan before Perdue and U. Conn inevitably meet? That has the potential to be epic.
I would very much like another legit C, or a guy who can become one. That's not really Olynyk's game. He's a back up PF. When Poeltl gets injured, this team goes to hell. Clingan at least will shoot a 3 on occasion. If he's willing to work on that part of his game in a way Jak clearly isn't, then by all means draft him (not #1, tho).
But I want to see Clingan shut down Edey first. Actually, I don't want to see that. I'd prefer the opposite, and then figure out how high Zach should go.
