their TPE aren't big enough to absorb Simmons, but doens't matter they can use capspace to do so (have to renounce the TPE's though)

Seems great for Dallas who gets back an old friend for Prosper and for Toronto who trades filler for their value in picks while also getting the potential upside out of Simmons.
For Washington its just how do they view Prosper. That's a fair amount of money to take on, so they need to see something in him. Right idea for them, just don't know how they feel about the player.

Who can/would trade a 1st for DFS tho? Cant see any clear candidates, but since u seems to think it would be easy u must have some?
I mean, most that would have a use for him are low on picks, and he is soon 31 years with a 8/4/1 season behind him

I don’t really understand using counting stats like that, especially for a player you should be really familiar with.
But.. Dallas (despite having PJ I’d still give up the protected 2025 first) if nothing better..
Presti should trade a first.
Sacramento if they aren’t going for star. DFS is a great fit with Murray/Sabonis. Match without using Barnes and have a nice three forward rotation.. Their fans likely have bigger dreams, but running the team back upgrading Sasha to DFS and banking on Murray as the third star feels realistic.
Cleveland, Miami and Atlanta should trade the 2024 first (Atlanta trading the Sac first) Philly if they don’t go cap space route..

Wiz get Josh Green
Nets get Tyus Jones (S&T)
Mavs get Dorian Finney Smith
Nets get a much needed PG, Mavs get a poa wing defender who Luka has chemistry with, Wiz get younger.
I'd love to see this go down actually. DFS is probably my favorite non Mav so live to have him back. Green is my least favorite player in the league and DC is the city i hate the most, so think the would be a fitting match

Doubt mavs would be willing to use a 1st, they need that to fill the sf position. Also locked up is a stretch, he got 1 year at 15m after this season, then a player option. So paying a 1st for 1 season of a roleplayer is doubtful

Premise is Jones on a bloated 1 yr contract, so Simmons need to be included
Godaddycurse wrote:Washington trade: Jones (S&T 33M/yr 1st yr guaranteed only)
Washington receive: THJ, McDaniels, OMax
Dallas trade: THJ, Omax, TOR 2025 2nd, best of DAL 2028 2nds
Dallas receive: DFS, Diop
Toronto trade: McDaniels, Boucher, Brown
Toronto receive: Simmons, TOR 2025 2nd, best of DAL 2028 2nds
Brooklyn trade: Simmons, DFS, Diop
Brooklyn receive: Brown, Boucher, Jones (S&T 33M/yr 1st yr guaranteed only)
Why for Brooklyn: Upgrade guard rotation without touching 2025 capspace plans or their stockpile of picks
Why for Dallas: bring back old friend to fill SF void
Why for Toronto: been rumored to be interested in Simmons at various points in the past. Even if/when simmons dont pan out still get a couple of 2nds for Brown and free up some roster spots to try out young players
Why for Washington: Get a prospect for eating some salary (comp is lowry for dragic/achiuwa)
Why for Jones: $$$
Claxton/Sharpe
Johnson/Boucher
Bridges/
Brown/Thomas
Jones/Schroder
Gafford/Lively
PJ/Kleber
DFS/Green
Irving/Hardy
Doncic/Exum

So, this is an easy ‘no’ for Toronto. Let’s accept that McDaniels and Boucher have no value beyond salary filler, and Brown is only worth 2 x 2nds. The Raptors need some significant compensation if they’re going to take on Simmons, and pay him $40 million to be injured most of the year.

Huh?
OP has the exact same value as you do. Maybe you are miscalculating something, but I will break it down for you in an easy to grasp format.
McDaniels + Boucher = Salary Filler at 15.5 Million
Bruce Brown = Matching Salary at 23 Million + 2 2nds
Ben Simmons = Salary Filler at 15.5 Million + Matching Salary at 23 Million [His contract is 40.3 Million, which is 1.8 Million MORE than the salary of McDaniels + Boucher + Brown]
Maybe you need 1.8 Million in cash kicked to Toronto, or maybe the fact that Toronto is already getting the "Best of 2nd(s)" should cover than 1.8 Million difference.
Please respond if I am missing something here
