On another note though it's a shame that half the teams next up might be without their best player on opening night (Butler, Zion, Giannis and Kawhi).

You earned the right to jaw a bit about Harden versus Luka today, but he lost to a Warriors team that had Steph play 38 minutes total.

This is a team with the 5th-highest SRS in league history (behind only the 1971 Bucks, 1972 Lakers, 1996 Bulls, and 2017 Warriors). I believe they are also tied with the 2017 Warriors for the 3rd highest net rating in league history (behind only the 1996 and 1997 Bulls). I do think it’s possible it’s a mirage, given that it’s partially a result of their deep bench doing super well, and meanwhile their clutch stats haven’t been very good. So maybe when they get to playoff games where deep-bench quality doesn’t matter and crunch-time deficiencies really do, they’ll turn out to be a paper tiger. But it’s just really hard to have much doubt in a team with that kind of regular-season team success.
