You can’t remember any close wins in the playoffs? Really?
Stop it lol.
I remember significantly more losses than wins.
Last year the close one in round 1 we lost to Trae Young.
Vs Philly we lost a close game 1, lost a close game game 4 where we pissed ourselves multiple times, games 1 and 2 vs Miami we got smoked by Jimmy Butler in the clutch..the Derrick White one was the only one we got and that was more survival than anything as we were pissing ourselves hard until that put back. Had like a 9 pt lead with 4 min left and almost gave it away.
This team has nearly nothing in the clutch.
I’m not arguing that they’ve been good in the clutch, but we’ve seen this core win a bunch of close playoff games. Heat game 6, Celtics blew the lead but still made the very kind of clutch play you described the Pacers and Bucks making. Sixers game 6, for sure. The season before they beat the Heat in a couple of close games, Bucks game 6 Tatum stopped every single Bucks attempt at a run, etc.
Celtics have shown very capable of winning playoff clutch games, they just been too susceptible to losing them lol.
We **** ourselves against the heat game 6. We have the lead and did our best to piss it away. Even fouling butler taking a 3pt shot, and we were up two. If not for the heroics of DWhite. The problem with the celtics, particularly JT, is consistency. You don’t know what you would get from him every playoff game. Just when everybody was ready to declare him one of the best, with chants of mvp after a stellar game, he goes lays an egg on the next one, having horrible 3pt field goals. I admit he has been a lot better this season, especially at attacking the rim, i would like to see some consistency night in night out. He always has some decent stats every game, but he’s been disappearing in the 4th when we needed him to take over, much especially against teams without their best player.
