Just like none of you was surprised Tatum missed the two layups to end the game.

It doesn't happen around here with these guys. Brown was just as bad as Tatum in the 4rh. He had that pull up 3 where he barely touched the damn rim earlier in the 4th.

They got tight.

But as much as Tatum went off in the 4th, no one is talking about it with Brown. It's ok to give him the credit on this one.

Also. White was just about as bad as you can get. I doubt he's that bad again.

Brown was good on that specific shot all season, the corner three with a defender standing 1 inch from him but not contesting shot. He was better on that shot than wide open corner threes. It's almost like he spent the whole season practicing for that moment.

Brown has never had a game tying or winning shot with under 10 seconds to go in his entire NBA career.

Wether he was capable of making that shot isn't the question. It's the fact that he's never done it in the circumstances. I had zero faith it was going in because Brown isn't that guy. Not until that moment.

Must have been more seconds on the clock when he tied a game and we went to OT, the game where JT playfully punched him in the chest? There wasn’t because we went to OT vs. Utah.

I think he hit one this season with little time on the clock but then the other team got their shot to answer at the buzzer.

He’s hit other clutch buckets too but of course I’m not sure of the time on the clock.

Didn’t he hit one under 10 seconds with a banked 3 against Miami to go to OT? I’m not 100% but I think it was to go to ot? Maybe he hit it and they had over 10 seconds left but i don’t think so.

Still, I know for a fact from memory, because the regular season is a part of his career, he has hit a shot under ten seconds that sent it to OT. I think it was against Utah IIRC. Unless you’re telling me the ball stayed in the air 11 seconds?

Based off what metric? Because I'm pretty sure this is the exact opposite of the truth.

Pretty sure if we win the title then everyone looks back at 2024 and says the Celtics dominated that year from start to finish. :dontknow:

It’s on Mazzulla to not play our 3 bench players at the same time. That’s not smart. I guarantee that our bench will play better going forward as long as Joe puts them in a position to do so.

I’m not giving up on either but it’s been a mostly bad playoffs for Hauser not one game. Him hitting 3s wasn’t a luxury, we need it. He’s not getting open enough and I’m not sure why. Korny was hurt at one point but this doesn’t seem like it will be a series he can shine in his role. Both have had excellent moments to save a game/win it but it’s been far too little. Pritchard was targeted last night but I don’t think anyone with a straight face can say he hasn’t been the most consistent and valuable bench guy, the only one playing well most nights. Al has been a starter for what 7 or so games? We haven’t been getting what I thought we could from Hauser. I’m sure Joe hasn’t either because he’s been squirrley with his minutes.

Don't hate Hauser, PP or Kornet. The Celtics just need more from them. It's the ECF, no one is going to give you anything.

I’m all in on going small in game two.

Start Al but play brizzy off the bench at the 5 if even love to see Tatum at the 5.

It’s not like we’re going up against the Timberwolves here…I think Tatum can check Myles Turner as the big out there and like you said Brissett has good wing size and can move his feet much better than Kornet. Kornet and PP broke down the defensive coverages a lot last night, korner due to being way too slow and Pritchard being abused on switches. Hauser was just lost af out there and impacted his game completely.

I hope Mazzulla makes some adjustments because there’s a lot wrong with the lineups that got us killed

Totally agree Tatum brown brissett can body turner enough. Myles isn’t gonna take major advantage of soze mismatches the way he does the drop.

Also why not trap on that high pnr just wanna see multiple looks to get them thinking. They turned the ball over like nobody’s business game 1 force decision making.

I still had Cs in 6 if they dropped game 1, but you never know

Siakam's hand placement is amazing
seemed he brushed JB's right elbow with his face on the way up
not saying it should've been a foul -- good job by the refs not blowing a whistle here or on Hail's chuck at the end of regulation

I agree. I think this is just behind Bird’s steal and pass to DJ and Henderson’s steal and layup leading to tie game 2 of 1984 Lakers final - mainly because of the competition. Also because JB’s defensive disruption and 3 pt shot were 2 separate plays. Of course if Indiana improbably goes on to dominate the NBA the next 5 years history could rate it higher.

An important detail not being talked about much is how he caught the ball in shooting position which immediately cancelled the strategy Indiana would have to foul - otherwise they risk a 4 pt play. Then it was all about make or miss.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Kalela wrote:This would have been a blowout win by the Celtics if it wasn't for the damn bench. They gave away the lead every time they came in. Mazzulla really needs to think about not playing Hauser anymore in this series. Especially not with Pritchard already on the floor as it kills the defense.

Exactly. Pritchard/Hauser/Kornet = zero defense. Pritchard made a few buckets but was -18 in 23 minutes. Kornet was getting torched. Hauser had an off night.
It's one of those things where it's a fine line between Joe sticking with his core guys so they keep their confidence VS shuffling it up and giving a guy like Oshae a chance against his former team. At least Oshae brings athleticism, hustle, offensive rebounding, etc.

Brissett is such a trainwreck offensively. Use Tillman he he can switch and is smart on offense

Nice! If that was against Miami that would have had a chair about about 4 legs from the bench under JB.
