in the playoffs what would giddey provide you alongside brunson?

Shooting - no
defense - no
additional shot creator scorer - no

seems like a really bad fit.

he'd take over playmaking when brunson is on the bench,

but since no one respects his jumper teams would just sag off of him and he really wouldn't be effective...just like he wasn't effective for OKC in playoffs.

We need a backup PG and shooters.

Non-shooters need not apply.

wonder if Rokas comes over...we could use another ball handler. Not sure if Thibs would trust him with minutes but its worth a shot.

If he can put pressure on the rim at the NBA level, Thibs will have use for him.

Picks in tact... can do a consolidation blockbuster trade at the trade deadline (Feb '25) if something makes sense then. Otherwise, keep building chemistry and immaculate vibes.

My main concern with Brogdon is that well run teams keep dumping him... (Boston, Milwaukee, Indiana...)

Maybe we can not trade Randle depending on the date he extends.

Call me impatient but it certainly feels like many of our trade chips will lose value if we don't strike in the next month or so.

- 2 draft picks this year
- Bogs contract comes up for renewal or need to trade in a month

Combine that with what in theory should be an interesting offseason with numerous stars on underperforming teams and the new cba kicking in, it feels like NOW not later is the time to finally strike.

This team is very close if it can stay healthy. Make the trade for one of the younger , less injury prone players that come available.

Do NOT trade for the too old and/or too injury prone guys:

Embiid
PG13
Beal (definitely not!)

Guys I am iffy on but could be great here:
KAT- I am iffy on but depending on the trade it could make us better
AD- iffy bc of the injury history but man would he be a beast on this team if healthy.
Durant - I am iffy on due to age/ injury history but he could be great here for 1 year or 2 potentially

Guys on the definitely trade for list:

Giannis - by far #1 option, young ish, not too too injury prone, elite 2 way O and D player.
Mikal Bridges- perfect Thibs fit. Not elite offensively but better than OG. Cheap contract too. Keep Randle and team would be loaded.
Donovan Mitchell- young, tough and is a combo guard who has decent defensive potential in Thibs system despite not having ideal height at 6'3. Still long arms, high BB IQ and would take pressure off Brunson.
Booker- ideal 2 guard for this system with height and can ballhandle a bit too

Wait, you’re saying let OG walk after trading RJ and IQ for him and instead trade for Mikal to replace him?

No

Ill offer up an idea..

Klay and Looney

for

Mitch and Bojan

If Warriors are resigned to losing Klay, they can get something back that helps them in Mitchell Robinson.
Can give Klay a 2 year 50mil deal, becomes continuous soup and he's a much better version of Bogey.

I feel like value is a little light to us, but thought i'd open it up for discussion.

so, wait, if there's no available superstar that we want to trade for, why shouldn't we just throw a bunch of the next 2 years' picks at mikal bridges?

4 of them are for this upcoming draft. we have to either trade them or use them. we're in win-now mode for at least the the next 2 seasons, while the superstars one would actually trade for (edwards, jokic, luka, giannis, tatum, etc) aren't available and won't be this summer. there's mitchell, but one would argue that adding bridges to this particular stew makes for a better meal. so **** it, use them to get the nets someone like trae young and play your hand at contending

robinson
randle
anunoby/hart
bridges/divincenzo
brunson/mcbride

+ ring veteran chasers to fill in the gaps

Exactly! There is no reason to not do what you’re proposing.

The only argument against it is the Nets hate the Knicks so much they won’t accept their help

Also for anyone who says it can’t happen. Tsai bought the Liberty from Dolan and lowkey it was a great investment since the WNBA seems poised to grow. Tsai has way bigger issues than getting an overpay from the Knicks for Mikal.
