You guys heard this? Turns out the Jimmy Hoiberg situation was crazier than I thought.

Who would want to coach an a-hole like Jimmy Butler? Guy must be bi-polar.

Spoelstra seems to be okay coaching Butler and there are players who have said they like him (Embiid is one that comes to mind).

I don't think Butler should be as outspoken as he's been, but that's my two cents. However, he's been in situations where a team has had success with him yet they don't believe in him. Philly and Minnesota both decided to pay other players (Tobias Harris, Wiggins, etc.). Chicago didn't think he was good enough to build around/with.

Hmmm. Dallas scored 118 points per game during the regular season, 111 in the WCF. I don't know if one series alone should eliminate the argument that the Wolves had an all-time great defense, but it certainly should dent it. Dallas was plenty effective at scoring in every game except Game #4, and even there it managed to crack 100. It's not as if the Wolves held them to 85 points.

The finals should be interesting. I agree that it can prolly go either way. I just dont trust the Celtics as they let teams get ahead or stay too close. If they do that to the mavs, theyre gonna lose the series.

Am not surprsied the Wolves lost, am a little surprised at how much they lost by.

After game 4 I made a comment here about not likining how nearly all of Minnesota's post-game comments were about not getting swept and not about coming back and winning the series. They seemed to have accepted defeat and viewed not being swept as some sort of moral victory.

When it comes to the finals - I guess I'll be rooting for Dallas? Would be cool to see a 5th seed win it all.

Mainly I want Jaylen "I'll have 5 rings before I'm 28" Brown to wind up with 0 rings when he turns 28 in October cause I'm petty

I want Dallas to win this as much as I wanted them to win in 2011. That tells you all you need to know about my feeling for the Celtics.

As odd as it seems for a #1 defense...I thought they had nobody to put on Luka. That last elimination game the primary defender on Luka was Slowmo, and Luka got past him automatically everytime with about 1 calorie spent. Minny was perennially playing 4 on 5. I was never surprised on any score because Minny was always in "emergency scramble mode" because Slowmo is too slow to keep up with and on picks he can't recover well. He's the anti-Caruso.

Is it possible to have an elite defense without a single decent 1 on 1 defender? I guess the answer is yes, as proved this year.

The Celtics have enough championships, I don't dislike these Celtics, they've been built well. But I think Luka deserves a chip, he's an amazing player and Dallas went balls to the wall at the deadline to improve their team.

Dallas all the way.

I'm hoping for Dallas to win as well, even though I'm not a fan of Cuban lol. I just can't favor a team like the Celtics, when we have such an underdog story with Dallas.

Wait, I didn’t watch game 5 after being busy then checked the score and said “no thanks, I’ve seen these so many times” but where was the great $131 million man Jaden McDaniels?

I was reading all sorts of ‘may [or even ‘is’] be the best defender in the league’ type posts after he got paid. Then he was used as the poster boy of the archetype’s “market rate” and why really meh guys dared to float salaries in that range moving forward.

Even though I don’t live in the weeds, always got the feeling they overpaid for a high end role player. Haven’t seen anything to shake that yet. Of course the new TV deal will normalize it, but if the economics weren’t changing?

3rd best record in the league since the trade deadline with the #8 offense and #5 defense - and that’s just regular season which doesn’t include the 3 playoff series they’ve had since to continue to gel, practice and come together. You get this group together in training camp, you’re probably looking at the 1 seed from the brutal West. Best player in the series, and a sidekick who has actually finished the job, while hitting the shot in the Finals.

They are not some big underdog story. They’re an underdog, yes. But let’s not talk like this is “Hoosiers.”

It's too bad that he didn't work out here in Chicago, but that's the past...

I wonder if he'll stay in Utah...? If I'm Markkanen I'm not sure if I want to spend the next few years on a team that's lottery bound.

Going into the playoffs no one outside of Tim Legler had them going to the WCF. There was no real talk of Dallas sniffing the Finals. Going into game 1 of the Finals, Boston was -6.5 from memory, and still favored to win the Finals -225. I never said they were the "Hoosiers", but they are clearly underdogs.

Shout out to Gene Hackman love that guy.

In 6-7 competitive games preferably, but same result. Kyrie has acted the part well this year but he’s a trash human being. I can’t root for him regardless of how amazing it is watch him play.
