For a 5 of Brunson/DDV/OG/Giannis/IHart ?
Uhmmm… yes
Does MIL want that package? No (unless they can guarantee a flip of Ju for young player and more picks)
Our biggest weakness is perimeter shooting but almost everything else of that lineup is dominant/borderline dominant.
In the paint Defense, Perimeter defense, pure scoring, rebounding, front court size.
3 ball isn't elite but it is pretty good between the 1,2, and 3 spots. We could probably add a 3 guy on the cheap that will want a ring to complete the picture.
It's hard not to think with a Brunson that played anywhere near the one we saw in these playoffs and then adding a Giannis and then OG as your defensive chess piece that this team wouldn't be an absolute finals favorite.
I highly disagree with the lack of shooting.
3 point shooting would be a major strength. DDV was one of the best shooters in the league full stop this season. OG is deadly from the corners and has been upper 30"s from 3 for the past few years. JB has always been a great catch and shoot guy and he's been over 40% from 3 as a Knick even with the high pull up volume from this year.
Personally, I think Giannis would make us title favorites. We'd have the best 2 players in almost every series in the East at that point.
The weakness in that lineup would probably be perimeter and POA defense, but you make up for that by having 3 monsters on the back end to clean stuff up. And if you're worried about DDV's defense you can throw Hart in there and it might cramp spacing a bit but you would own the glass and be very tough to score on.
