She was fantastic last night though, I had the Sun game on with the Finals in the background, Reese was giving us the business
Marina Mabrey on the other hand...
Yeah I was flipping back and forth. Mabrey was terrible last night
I think this might have been Angel's most efficient game as a pro. I don't put too much stock into rookie efficiency because it's gonna be some rough nights, but she was dropping interior buckets against arguably the league's best defense. And rebounding your own misses ala Moses and Rodman is a skill too lol
Honestly, I feel bad because I quietly underestimated how well she would adjust to the physicality, but the rebounding, defense, all of itis top notch. I'll never doubt her again
Same here, I really underestimated her. I was watching NCAA tourney games with my mother-in-law who coached AAU and her daughter played in college. She tripled down on Angel Reese being a star player on talent. Honestly, I thought she was going to far and I’m gonna have to eat crow. I was def off on this one. I just hadn’t watched enough women’s basketball to put into perspective her motor and athleticism.
Long story..but I think a lot of new women’s bball fans have to hold space for the fact they haven’t watched a lot of women’s pro basketball yet.

Reese is destined to be who she is, cause she bets on herself and has supreme confidence in her abilities.
Even tho on the exterior she comes off like a girly Diva... she is a rugged beast... she actually works hard at basketball.
People thought she was bugging leaving Maryland, but it literally was the best decision she could have made cause she was being held back there.
It was weird seeing her blow up at LSU, since I knew about her for a few years before LSU, and she was heavily under the national radar.
She has an Elite Motor and is a fighter....that will take her super far.
She will never have a pretty game... but I dont care. I like that her game is funky. Makes her more Unique.

She is really talented but this response leaves a lot to be desired. Almost better if she just said she didn’t want to discuss it.

This is a tough spot, and she looked very uneasy answering that question. I think she's being coached by her PR people to stay out of it. Which is smart, but I feel like she has a responsibility as one of the faces of the league to disavow the use of her name in this manner.
I feel like a lot of this will come to a head at All Star Weekend. She is going to have to make it known that she doesn't represent what these sickos are using her name for. She didn't ask for this, but unfortunately this is what the situation is. She has to stand up.
TerrenceClarke wrote:that response is disgusting. She basically is taking no responsibility that she can help calm the narrative down if she spoke up. Her silence is eye opening now that she basically comes out and says she wont address it.

I don’t see it as that tough of a spot. If that’s how she feels then that’s cool. And if that’s the calculation she has made then that’s cool too.
But with all the attention and commercials and money..come questions like this. A lot of the wave that is leading to $$ is also leading to these questions. Bc of that she should answer them. This is a league full of LGBTQ people and when you don’t wanna comment on the abuse they are getting (which people often weaponize CCs name to do)..then that is a statement by itself.

I'm not going to be as hard on her, because she's young and seems really unsure how to deal with this, but she is going to have to speak on this one way or another. Cam already did and it didn't hurt her brand at all.
The same people who are using her as a prop are the same ones pushing hate rhetoric towards her teammates. Aliyah Boston has faced an appalling amount of racist attacks. She has a responsibility that she cannot run away from.
Paige is different. She knows that this stuff puts her family members at risk. So I don't expect her to be Paige, or Cam, or even Hailey Van Lith. But she needs to disavow this crap and make it clear that she doesn't stand for it. Because these people have run wild using her as a prop and it's not gonna stop until she says something

She knows how to speak up about aggressive play and complain about that, but wants to be tone def to all negative stuff surrounding her. She knows whats going on.
The reality is that she would upset the racists by speaking up for the women in the W and she knows that. I personally dont know whats up with her when it comes to race, but a white girl growing up in Iowa def knows what racism is towards blacks and stuff. No way she has not heard stuff in her life.
She literally was at a game where people from the Suns own fanbase turned on they own player in Harrington and started to boo her because she was mocking Clarke and playing her hard.
She is fully aware of everything that is going on. Its the loudest story in all of sports.... All the players in the W knows whats going on expect her...
this was weak sauce by her. She could have done better. you keep bringing up PR, but its actually GOOD PR if CC was would address it....cause it paints her in good light... Her brand reflects whats good about her.
the only negative would be from the racist fan base that follows her and brought the BS to the table.... being mad that she defends black women etc....

I believe that A'ja, Angel etc are paying homage the late great Florence Joyner Griffin ala Flo Jo
I could be wrong though.
