That’s not even a big three. That’s a idk what the rest of the league is supposed to do lineup….

No one is beating that team healthy.

Celtics and Denver i would give a 50-50 shot at winning a series against that team and could probably add another team or two. Would love to roll with that team to see what they could do though.

thebuzzardman wrote:Knicks aren't making any trades. They made the big move last season, getting OG. Now he's got them bent over in negotiations so he'll get the "star contract". Knicks either failed to grasp the CBA changes, or, most likely, they plan to use Randle in a future trade.

So the Knicks will trade 2 draft picks into the future so they can keep saying "look at all the picks we can offer a star", except they never get one until they decide to trade Randle two years from now. Then they draft Dunn or some other project, bring back Bogs and Burks.

Like everything else said here its speculative but if OG alone is going to force them into the second apron I get why they want to keep Bojan and extend everyone. You not getting the MLE anyway, we’re built as is for the foreseeable future.

Honestly won’t be surprised Clippers just move on from the current team. Way too expensive squad with little to show for it.

The smart thing to do would be to do just that, butttt with them going into the new arena next season Balmer seems determined to have a competitive team next season

Ben watching some clips this week some good stuff.

My Sun Melo killing the podcast game right now.

This would've been better if Julius was smoking a cigarette during the podcast.

Heh, I don't even want to imagine the Knicks giving up 3+ picks, and cap flexibility for someone who wants 40+ for 3+ years.

They need names there to sell tickets. Doubt Hardening and Leonard is moving the needle in terms of excitement. The few Clipper fans I know are just so thoroughly done with Leonard it's not even funny.

He may as well don’t even think about coming then.PG won’t take a 3rd seat to Brunson and Randle, even taking second banana to Brunson is asking to much of him prob. PG ain’t mentally there yet imo.

You might be able to squeeze second on the pecking order but def not 3rd. Don’t think Randle has enough cache yet. Brunson is on the cusp , so the best you can get is second and even then he gonna want the rock a lot still.

PG is still good at basketball contrary to what a lot of people think.

i don’t think anyone is arguing he isn’t good at basketball. he’s def proven that, but he’s also proven he’s not a top 15 nba player probably. not at 34 years old. brunson would still be the unquestioned number 1 option if we got pg

That means nothing to PG tho that’s the point. He not mentally there. Brunson can be #1 all day it don’t mean PG will play second fiddle to him. It’s why I said he should not even come.

NBA players don’t think like fans do. PG still thinks he is number 1. Thus a conflict.

PG has not had his Melo moment yet.

PG willingly ceded #1 status to Kawhi. I know it's Kawhi, but I think PG is at that place where he'd just want to help a team win. Plus he'd get lots of shots still with Knicks.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Not possible, people have not had a chance to wrap their head around the new rules of the cba.

When you aquire more than 100% of outgoing trade you are hardcapped.

Or if you acquire a player in s&t you get hard capped.
This trade would put them way over hard cap.

Decline bogs, and then have randle + fillers to make a legal trade.

To add to this
Jalen Brunson $25
Paul George $49 (if he opts in for a trade)
OG Anunoby $35
Julius Randle $29
Isaiah Hartenstein $16

Josh Hart $18

That is 6 players making $172, hard cap is $178

I was about to post the same thing.

This would be a super duper team -- but financially impossible.

We'd be almost over the 2nd apron with only 6 guys. This is Fantasy Basketball on steroids!!

Yeah that why I said the Knicks would need to do there due diligence as well. If PG isn't going to sacrifice and be willing to take on a different role. More C&S and more defensive role like his earlier INDY days. Then we should pass as well.

We are in an important crossroads where we have a star and an identity and you don't want to bring in someone that isn't going to fully buy in.

That’s where the knicks are in tight spot. Brunson is a new star…..so the question what ‘older’ star will bow down.

NBA players stars have huge egos.

The problem is…young upcoming stars are hard to trade for.

Indeed but if a vet isn't willing to sacrifice to win probably should pass. .he's 34 and clippers aren't winning anything so if he wants to have an legit chance at a chip he will need to realize he isn't a #1.

If he can't come to the realization the Knicks will just look elsewhere. I think a while back they said the Knicks interest in PG last year was overblown.

I think they are looking for a player more on Brunsons timeline...but like you said someone in there prime or a younger players is much harder to trade for.

Does PG even think he's an alpha star at this point. Better yet, do we think he's that guy because I wouldn't trade for him under the assumption that he is. IMO he's about as good as Julius for maybe another 2 seasons and then sub from there. But I think he understands this and I do think he wants to win. He's just not in the Melo phase yet where in order to win, media and everybody is asking him to come off the bench for no reason. He's just saying he's not willing to relinquish all notions of him being a star and I don't have an issue with that. But yeah, he's gotta fit in with what we are doing.

I’m sure we could get Kawhi from them but at this point, not even this player would go after his 50 million deal.

From things like his Pod (not recent stuff), I don't think you'd run into an issue about alpha. Honestly, if the price is cheap, I'd consider it, but if I was a GM, I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be in paying him 45-50 mil per in his late 30's. This all moot, though, as I think this is mostly posturing.
