Those scrubs got nothing on the Sassinator and Reece. Homegrown drafted guards by us.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

2017- Isaac
2018-Bamba (blown pick in a loaded draft)
2019- Okeke
2020-Cole Anthony(15th)
2021-Suggs and Franz
2022-Paolo
2023-AB and Jett
2024-TDS
If he hadn't won the lottery and plucked Paolo in 2022 im not 100% sure he'd still be here.

The drafting is historically good. Weltman is on a run that only Presti can touch.drsd wrote:The-Stallion70 wrote:Weltman has not really drafted well here.

2017 - many here liked Markkanen, and he ended up the better pick. That said, nost here like Monk. So ...
2018 - trade-down was the right play as it was clear there was a path to Gilgeous-Alexander on draft night. That said, the Magic ended up with Carter, so the Bamba pick can be let go.
2019 - most here wanted Alexander-Walker. That said, the Magic ended up with Bitadze, which helps ease the Okeke-pain.
2020 - it's not like the Magic was gonna draft Maxey, so hard to disagree with Anthony.
2021 - nailed both picks
2022 - nailed the pick
2023 - no way the Magic should have stayed in the draft. But the picks are not horrible.
2024 - well, could have gone with Bronny?
So: in conclusion, the drafting was quite good actually.

We lost Shaq because the franchise was young and did not want to pay him that big money, they, however, did listen to his desire to have Penny. T-Mac wanted out because he didn’t want Dwight in that draft, he actually wanted Okafor. Now we have Paolo asking for some help and it does not appear he is being listened to.
