OG can go be Tobias Harris in Philadelphia or win a championship with the New York Knicks.

Trading Mitch should be a top priority now and get a stretch big in. This is set for a 5 out killer team.

The deal as it stands hard caps the Knicks. They can't sign I-Hart -- supposedly -- if they are hard capped. Some believe there's some minor moves yet to come to avoid being hard capped. Could also be a length issue, too.

Because "The sky is falling" is great clickbait. Especially if it's Knicks related. Also the loser narrative of trading picks that won't be top tier since this team will be a perennial title contender.
IHart gonna sign a 2 year deal, OG gonna sign for 4. We good.
I-Hart wants 4. He isn't signing for 2. He wants security over money.

I mean KAT or Markkanen are just what we need for that, but playing 5-out for short stretches does work like this too:
Brunson
DDV
Bridges
OG
Randle
(Hart is there too)
Now that Bridges is here, I’m okay with the roster.

I don't think this is true unless it's considering all cap holds and the Knicks finalizing the trade immediately which never happens. Wouldn't it also mean they couldn't sign OG or use any MLE etc? Doesn't seem logical at all they would lock themselves into that situation. I assume the trade isn't finalized (as in officially submitted to the league) until Knicks have everything in order. Whether that means releasing precious or others cap holds etc.

So what’s next?
iHart takes a pay cut to stay. We give OG the max. We trade Mitch. Then we win the chip?

I'm just done with Mitch at this point. He isn't the explosive monster he came in as and can't stay on the floor long enough to have a true valuable impact. I would rather trade him for a pick or 2, draft either Ware, Holmes or Flipowski and sign Goga to a vet min.

He’s good to have, but I don’t disagree with you here.

as things are reported right now, bogs for mikal, the knicks are hardcapped at $178
that means they have apx $45 left to spend for rest of roster, including OG, ihart, precious, burks etc etc

Re: Trades and Transactions thread cont - post Mikal trade
but is that because of cap holds etc put the Knicks above an apron post trade? Or just any trade in which you take back more salary hard caps you? Either way it doesn't matter until the trade is made official and Knicks can make moves until then.douggood wrote:kNicksGmen wrote:Wildcat wrote:

any trade where you take back more hard caps you
and order of transactions wont matter, lets say you sign 0G an ihart first, then do the mikal trade, the league wont allow it because you will end up over the hard cap after trade.

Order of transactions does matter in the sense they can figure out how to not take back more in a trade. Not sure if they can draft someone for the nets and include that player in the deal? When I watched the Bobby marks video he made it seem like Knicks still would likely ensure to not hard cap themselves and the deal would be tweaked to do so.

If ihart walks, we will be left with a unraliable center in Mitch. I Wonder if the plan is trading Randle and Mitch for Towns.

Go after KAT to play the Omari Spellman role? Defense would be crazy with OG - Mikal anyway

Any outside chance of Chris Paul ending up here?
I think there is a decent chance the Warriors may waive him as I don't see them paying 31mill. at this stage of his career. Would be a nice secondary playmaker off the bench and would have the best chance at a ring here.
The Warriors are at 173mill. without Klay Thompson......
