LeVert probably safe with Kenny being the new head coach.

I'm a little shocked by some of the names he's actually better than.

With Murray being traded to the Pelicans, I'd say it is safe to assume that Garland is staying with the Cavs.

Lakers or Spurs could make an offer.

I agree, but do want to say if they are still shopping Garland that this package does set a bar. Maybe I am biased, but I think Garland has a better market than Murray currently. Hawks went the young player and picks route. Obvi Cavs are trying to get better so we'd probs swap a pick for a better young player/sub all-starish veteran on long contract

I still don't think Garland or Allen gets traded, but we will find out soon enough

With Kenny on board, i doubt any trades are made too. He seems to be leaning into the young core idea, that can compete.

Raptors are wondering why they couldn't get a Bridges type haul after the fact of trading OG and Siakam. It's actually pretty insane what's been happening in the trade/contract market over the last 6 months. I can't assess the value for a lot of things unless we assume everyone is just dumb and overpaying.

With the tv deal coming, that may be a correct assumption.

Well the Spurs made an offer already. It was garbage. If you mean they could relent and include Vassell, yes they could. They just moved back Graham's guarantee date so they must have something in mind, be it with the Cavs or another team.

I'm not trading Garland for the Lakers role players. The Cavs can't take a bath on talent.

I'm just saying there are more destinations out there that could use a PG if Garland asks out.

I read this as a threat to send Ingram to the basketball equivalent of Siberia if doesn't agree to a reasonable extension with a potential trade partner.

I suppose the Nets are fortunate that the Knicks believe Bridges is the last piece that can push them over the top, that he's from Villanova, doesn't get injured, has an offensive game, and is under contract at a decent price for the 2 season.

Bridge's Bird right situation is tricky because in 2 years another team can pay him more than the Knicks, but reportedly the Knicks are content to focus on the what they can achieve in those two seasons.

Which is a lot of typing to say, there was doubt with OG and Siakim, doubt that they'd re-sign with the team that traded for them, doubt they'd stay healthy, and doubt they'd be worth the contract they were demanding.

I guess in an environment where NBA revenue may be increasing 10% a year, those huge salaries they're getting are closer to neutral year to year on paper, but it's getting weird for sure.

Yeah, the Cavs are always looking to thread a needle with their trades, so even if they took the same package from the Pelicans, they'd want to get a 3rd team involved that could provide the players they want.

The Pelicans didn't have to move any of their wings in the trade. It re-enforces the idea that teams are only offering spare parts for Garland so far; but with Murray off the market the question is who do the Spurs go after if they feel the Cavs are asking too much?

What are the alternatives at this point for them to pair an NBA ready PG with Wemby?

The Knicks declined to extend the qualifying offer to Precious. The Magic declined the team option on Mo Wagner. This isn't a bad time to see how many seconds Detroit wants to take Niang.

Yeah, but that means he thinks he could get more than his P.O.

It was $5.4 million, i would hope a 23 yo versatile big like him could net more than that.

Yeah, but that means he thinks he could get more than his P.O.

And he’s worth it for a period longer than 1year…

His role was reduced in Indy with the addition of Siakam.

We'll see what happens, but I suspect he proves too expensive. There are bad teams sitting on cap space and he just wants a shot at playing real minutes.
