We're going to hear about Hauser and Queta soon. My hope is they decline both options and sign them to longer homery deals.

After less than an hour...

I really don’t see much out there but you never know. Philly will need role players but probably close to the minimum. Detroit should be focused on younger guys. Knicks need a backup big but can only do a minimum.
I think the Cs have a good opportunity to bring back both.

I would love this for the Celtics. I think Mo is one of those players that if he got drafted by any other team other than ORL he would have been a Myles Turner type player. Injuries and never having a consistent role with a team really stagnated him, and he never learned how to not foul and play positional defense.

He was the #4 recruit coming out of HS, and is still only 25/6. He would check 3 boxes for this team, spacing the floor, rim protection, and adding another big.

Would love to see this happen, and if our coaching and vets could help him realize his defensive impact. I think going to a team where he would have a clearly defined role would be immense for him.

I want Tillman back because I think there’s real potential there for a playoff rotation big if that shot improves.

I like Kornet. I don’t think Wiseman or Bamba are as good as him. But idk, I’d probably take a flier on one of them if they’re willing to come here. Just gamble on the upside.

Wherever Kornet signs, send them a 2nd at the deadline to get him back if we need to lol

I agree. Kornet is better on the floor for this team, and he's so valuable off the floor too. Hopefully he returns- that goes for Tillman as well.

Every time the Sixers put Bamba in the game against Boston last season, I thought, oh good.

Kornet and Tillman benefited from the Jays and Joe stimulus package. Bamba was trapped in the Morey and Embiid Ponzi scheme.

I think healthy Rob was great but a lot of his lob game was thanks to the Jays and Al. I think Bamba out there with 4 of the 5 starters would be a nightmare for opposition the way Lively/Garruba were in WC playoffs. Maybe his deficiencies will make him a disappointment but I think that if he takes a vet minimum here in Boston, he could play his way into an MLE next year.

He may not be a difference maker when the playoffs roll around, but I bet he could eat up a lot of minutes. I like Kornet better because of his locker room presence, his motor and his intelligent play but I think he will cost too much this off season. However, having a better athlete with better hands to finish lobs would be really fun to watch and Bamba also has a decent enough 3 to create space unlike Luke.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Tillman looks like Al so it is always shocking to remember he is only 25 so there is still potential for upside development. I am squarely in the camp that would prefer the guys we have but if they leave and we can get Bamba on a minimum contract…..I’m good with that.

What Celtics picking up Sam Hauser option means for offseason options

The Celtics will be eligible to extend Hauser for 140 percent of the estimated league salary beginning on July 9 for up to four years. Boston could offer up to four years and $78 million for a full max extension for Hauser. The sharpshooter’s price tag is unexpected to be that high so it will be interesting to see if the two sides can find common ground in the coming weeks after a host of new contracts are signed around the league in free agency.

With Hauser’s back in the fold now officially at a bargain contract for one more year, here’s a closer look at the Celtics roster heading into the start of free agency on Sunday night. Boston still has one more decision to make on Neemias Queta’s $2.1 million contract by 5 p.m. Saturday. The team could elect to decline that option but still try to bring Queta back per a source to create some roster flexibility. Queta is also eligible to sign a two-way contract for one more season with Boston or any other team if he is unable to secure a 15-man roster spot.

Picking up Queta seems like a no brainer to me as well.

It does seem we could offer playing time with Porzingas out for a couple to 3 months and managing Al’s minutes. If we can’t get Kornet back I am in on Bomba.
I think Tillman is a must though.

Bamba is one of those guys who looks like he should be good based on superficial stats and pre-draft hype. Gotta wonder what the right environment and coaching could do. It's Patrick obryant season!!!

Brad knows best but I'm not a Bamba fan. When his 3's are falling he looks good but the other 80% of the time I'm astounded by how he's been a pro basketball player for so many years now and still seems to have very little idea of how to play pro basketball.
