I don’t think Kuminga does anything for us though. He’s a promising player and gives us more athleticism, but neither offensively nor defensively is he what we are looking for. That’s why I like Houston more as a trade partner. Jabari fits better and the filler is less awkward.

Yeah, a real failure at convincing him to take a vet min.

That’s twice now, when mentioning specific players on the roster, Doc has sounded like Khris Middleton wasn’t even part of the team. 1st it was surrounding Dame and Giannis with better fits, not Dame, Giannis and Khris. And now when talking about rookies competing and not being awe struck it’s, “I get it, you’re in a gym with Dame, Giannis, Bobby, Brook”.
Feels like I’m grasping at straws here but is it maybe a thing that Doc doesn’t either think very highly of Khris or he believes Khris won’t be a part of the team much longer?

Better be a good trade, if that's the case, because Khris was crucial this past year.
Or boosting Brook's value. Or he envisions those cats playing in separate rotations from Khris.

No mention of Khris.
Also, Horst implying that there will be a couple big moves today (in the league).
It's because of their positions.

I suspect that if he doesn't value Khris its within the context of our current roster. In a vacuum, Khris is great.
Doc did praise Khris when he was last on the Simmons pod for being "so smart."
Idk
During that last presser, either Doc or Horst said we have 6 returning playoff proven vets. So lets see
Dame
Khris
Giannis
Brook
Bobby
Pat
If you can find a 7th, Khris may be gone.

Like, not finding a taker for one or both of those picks to either A) kick the can down the road and acquire future tradeable draft assets, or B) package those picks with salary for an immediate starter/rotation guy does make me question what the plan even is here.
The problem is it takes two to tango and we'll never know if those picks held any actual value. There weren't any draft night/day deals that saw picks in the Bucks range being moved for useful vets.
Similarly, we don't know the value of Bobby, Brook, Pat, or Khris until they're moved. Maybe they've got a bunch of value and Horst is weighing his options. Or maybe the offers suck and the Bucks are better off holding onto them for now.
We won't know until moves are actually made, if they get made at all.
True, but the Knicks traded #26 for five 2nd-round picks. The Suns traded back just six spots in the late-1st and picked up three additional 2nd-rounders. The Blazers packaged #14 and salary (Brogdon) for Deni. These are the kind of margins moves I think we needed to make here.
Why? I'd rather see if a talented (albeit raw) AJ is something in a year or two than have 19 second round picks

Ingram feels like a best case scenario in a Khris deal imo.

Im going to predict that we land Sexton. I know hes a bad defender, but he was good enough offensively last season to counterbalance that. Only D Mitch and Kyrie had a better offensive LEBRON rating.
Dame
Sexton
Khris
Defensive pf
Giannis
Slaughter
Then if Khris or Dame get hurt, we still have three scoring options. If Giannis gets hurt we are screwed as always

Ingram is probably the worst player I wouldn't be super pissed about trading him for
khris/pat for BI works on the spotrac trade machine
maybe we could even get some of our picks back from them somehow

Mil-Towns, Reddish, Hayes
Lakers- Brook
Wolves-Rui, Mids
I think this is pretty good all around but I’m scared of Towns a bit

Would Alec Burke take the minimum for a starting spot? He’s better than Beasley. Pretty much everyone is better than Beasley.

I’d trade Khash if you’re getting a guy like Ingram back. I don’t see why NOLA does that though.

Yet the alternative seems to be a median roster age of 42, chanting 3 times that the veteran last legs of george hill, jae crowder and pat bev will get us over the top, Connaughton being the guy b/c we can't swing a real upgrade @ the 2/3/4, and zero future due to having no 1sts on the roster to develop and having thrown away all 1sts in upcoming drafts. Somewhere, there's a cliff on that road. Sometime, this 'method' goes over it. Do you grow a team by repeat-buying stale twinkies at the kwik-trip? Agreed re use of draft picks insofar as a more conventional prospect would be more useful, and sooner; gambling for the next Giannis isn't worthwhile when they need an easier-to-find Rodman. You're right. Horst didn't execute a gamechanger. But you can't make bratwurst without real meat.

Pretty sure Kwik Trip only sells “fresh” twinkies
