Marks said that a few days ago and he was right.

So, we are gonna wait 3 more days before we decide what to do about Shart leaving? They can work out whatever they have to with the Mikal trade before the 6th and make other moves off that. Like they planned to do if Shart stayed. What if the targets get traded or sign somewhere else before then?
I would think they are still trying to work through the numbers and, hopefully have some deals lined up after that. It doesn't have to drag out until the 6th unless they are having issues finding the right deal. When it happens it happens and we will find out.

I think if its a trade its just not feasible until they complete the mikal trade to ascertain how much they can trade out of in, or they might have to make the Mikal trade bigger. We’ve seen teams do this before where one trade is announced and when it's finally completed more parts are added on.

If they are tweaking the Nets trade for apron purposes, it shouldn't take a week unless they are having issues settling on a deal for whatever reason. Once something happens we will find out. The 6th has nothing to do with it. They are still working on things obviously.

there are a lot of moving pieces.
we either make the Mikal trade as is and we are hardcaped at the 1st apron which means we can't us the TPMLE for 5 MM or even bring back Precious.
we can expand the Mikal trade to include some more salary and hard cap at the 2nd apron with a S&T to open up the TPMLE and potentially use bird rights to go up against the 2nd apron.
Knicks want option 2...and have to think they have something up there sleeve because they wouldn't have been able to offer ihart the contract they did without having an avenue to get the 2nd apron.
But S&T are tricking and need to be at least 3 years (1 guaranteed) that means Burks or Precious have to sign a deal and want to go to that team to sign a very team friendly deal which isn't always easy to agree with a player at unless you front load the deal to make them happy.

I remember reading
July 6th as a key date (I forgot for what) but maybe we will know by then.
Maybe it was when signings can become official.
I feel like the package for Bridges can be turned into a 3 team as long as Nets still get what they agreed to in principal for their return.
Maybe even they agreed to a couple different acceptable returns pending how we work out the other part of the trade (likely for Kessler or Richards).
I think Rose and company WILL be ultra aggressive to get a decent new Center in here. Because a rim protecting 5 seems critical to Thibs ideal system. And Mitch is just too injury prone to be your main/only option.
However they do it it will satisfy the tricky rules of this ridiculous CBA. At least such that we can execute the trade and posaibly get both Bridges and the Center in a single trade or 2 separate trades.

I understand all of that. Like I said, the 6th has nothing to do with any of that. It's a matter of still having to work things out. When that happens we will hear something. It could be today. I could be a week from today.

3. He has gotten into arguments with Will Hardy over playing time and other things
4. He wants to shoot 3s

We gotta get him. He ain’t sulking and getting into arguments here with Thibs. Hardy is like 26 years old. Thibs will keep him in line.
