Problem is, if he sucks ass during summer league against guys who won't ever sniff the NBA, it looks a lot worse than if he sucks ass vs NBA players. Then they can just be like "welp, he was a late second pick."
If he shows he can't even hang with summer league players, that just makes the already awful pick, look like even more of a joke than it already is.
No offense, but what game are you guys watching? I’m not even a Lakers fan but Bronny was fine. He missed shots but other than that he didn’t look out of place at all. He missed some open shots but one bad shooting night is not enough to draw any conclusions. He wasn’t forcing up bad shots (most were clean looks) nor were his misses air balls or anything of that nature.
Let me put it this way: if Bronny’s name were Steve Anderson any rational analysis would have been “looks like an NBA athlete who had a bad shooting night” instead of “lolz embarrassing”. He looked perfectly fine given his draft position and his biggest issue (shooting) is something that is highly variable. He didn’t look like they plucked a guy out of rec league like you guys are making it seem.
If Bronny's name was Steve Anderson, he wouldn't have ever been considered an NBA prospect nor would he be in the NBA. He is literally in the NBA on name alone. He has no NBA level skills.
It also wasn't one bad shooting night, it was a continuation of him not being a good shooter at all. He couldn't shoot in college, he couldn't shoot in the draft combine scrims, and he couldn't shoot in his first SL game. I don't care what he can shoot in shooting drills, Ben Simmons can shoot in those too. Against competition, he's awful and always has been.
