I specially disliked moment when commentator went "forget about nepotism". Lets not try make nepotism cool, publicly okay, acceptable, something which is good or positive across television. Children and young adults are watching this sport and games.

We dont want our children to grow up and be like Bronny. I dont understand people who voice and work on television, give voice to radio and actually speak to audience, to be like this. Please when you doing your job do your job responsibly.

Nepotism existed long before Bronny and will continue to do so long after they're both out of the league. I mean, it's the only way that Thanassis is still on the Bucks list.

Anyone have a stat how many players from the Summer League immediately makes an NBA team (at least those who had limited minutes)?

More than 50% of the posts in this thread are about Bronny and he played in one summer league game.

An airplane crashing gets more news coverage than a smooth inter continental flight.

I see damage control is being done to hide Bronny embarrassing himself further and cost the Lakers season ticket sales........

Summer League always reminds me how politics play a major role in who plays and who doesn't. There are dozens of NBA caliber players languishing down in the G-League that will never play because teams are doing agents a favor by signing and playing scrubs or a scrub some new G.M. just wasted a pick on is given a chance over someone better down in the G-League.

Judging by the highlights, he is a homeless man's Şengün, and at worst might be a 12th man and a good training body

Doubt he’s roster worthy. He’s pretty slow and a bit uncoordinated. Bolden has been a lot better so he probably looks worse in comparison

He looks like he is wearing cement shoes.

Sad to hear you dont like him. How about my boy Mantas Rubstavicius? I see he played today.

After getting cut from France's Olympics roster yesterday, Nadir Hifi is joining the Timberwolves for the Summer League.

I really thought Rob Pelinka was deceptively a smart guy... or at least not a stupid exec but my gosh, what a very dumb decision to give these bad players a player option. :noway:

His lack of burst is a bit concerning. In college, he was more physically developed than everyone and bullied his way to the rim. Different ballgame now. I think he’s going to be fine but his major weakness was athleticism coming out

He just looks tiny to me out there now.

I don't but this would be a worthy project to dive into. I wonder if we can get the spotrac guys that post here occassionally to look into it.

I don't think the Lakers have an attendance issue regardless of Bronny.

PHL vs OKC as well - Jared McCain, Adem Bona are on the 76ers. Dillon Jones, and Ajay Mitchell for OKC.

Holmgren is not playing in this SL for OKC.

Not saying they are faking this, it was just a thought I had.

I would just play him now. The only way he gets better is via reps. No point in trying to hide him especially on a Sunday afternoon SL game…this whole thing is really such a disaster :x

Problem is, if he sucks ass during summer league against guys who won't ever sniff the NBA, it looks a lot worse than if he sucks ass vs NBA players. Then they can just be like "welp, he was a late second pick."

If he shows he can't even hang with summer league players, that just makes the already awful pick, look like even more of a joke than it already is.

No offense, but what game are you guys watching? I’m not even a Lakers fan but Bronny was fine. He missed shots but other than that he didn’t look out of place at all. He missed some open shots but one bad shooting night is not enough to draw any conclusions. He wasn’t forcing up bad shots (most were clean looks) nor were his misses air balls or anything of that nature.

Let me put it this way: if Bronny’s name were Steve Anderson any rational analysis would have been “looks like an NBA athlete who had a bad shooting night” instead of “lolz embarrassing”. He looked perfectly fine given his draft position and his biggest issue (shooting) is something that is highly variable. He didn’t look like they plucked a guy out of rec league like you guys are making it seem.

If Bronny's name was Steve Anderson, he wouldn't have ever been considered an NBA prospect nor would he be in the NBA. He is literally in the NBA on name alone. He has no NBA level skills.

It also wasn't one bad shooting night, it was a continuation of him not being a good shooter at all. He couldn't shoot in college, he couldn't shoot in the draft combine scrims, and he couldn't shoot in his first SL game. I don't care what he can shoot in shooting drills, Ben Simmons can shoot in those too. Against competition, he's awful and always has been.
